Augie's Barbed Wire Smokehouse

We got the brisket, pork ribs, potato salad, coleslaw, and creamed corn. The meat was alright, but nothing special. I was really disappointed that it didn't seem to have any flavor and needed the sauce to make it taste like anything. The only noticable flavor the potato salad had was mayonnaise. The coleslaw had a mildly sweet flavor and was good. I also thought the creamed corn was good, but the rest of my family didn't like it.

My wife and I had an absolutely fantastic lunch experience!

From the moment we walked in, Louie, our host and server, made us feel so welcome with his friendly and informative demeanor. His warmth and attentiveness truly set the tone for a wonderful afternoon.

The food was nothing short of amazing! My wife had the brisket, which was tender, flavorful, and perfectly cooked—a true standout. I opted for the 3 beef ribs plate, accompanied by creamy mac & cheese and a perfectly balanced potato salad. Every bite was spot-on, and the flavors were unforgettable.

We would recommend this spot and can’t wait to return the next time we’re in town!

The best brisket I've ever had. However, surprisingly, the mac and cheese was the star today. Almost Indescribable!! Heavenly, creamy deliciousness. Love the cashier too!

Augie's continues to set the bar in Bar B Que! It doesn't matter where you are..if you are in the city..make the drive to this place. The staff is friendly and the food is amazing. Texas BBQ at it's finest!

Augie’s catered our sons going away party and the food was a hit. Everyone loved it and said Augie’s has become their favorite bbq spot. The owner is so nice and provided everything we needed to make my son’s party special. Highly recommend Augie’s!

Did not eat because we had already eaten but stopped in and the food looks amazing. We did enjoy some beer and let me tell you, they were COLD. Will definitely be back! The staff was great.

What a cozy place I could have sat out on the patio all day. It was inviting & it was just special. The Chopped Beef was to die for, but then you already know that. Perfect place to eat before heading into the Zoo.

I recently visited this barbecue place around lunchtime. It was initially empty, but it quickly filled up. The customer service was excellent; the gentleman at the counter (maybe the owner or manager?) was very friendly.
Unfortunately, the food was a major letdown. I only took a few bites before I had to throw it away. It was so bad that I felt embarrassed disposing of a full plate of food in the trash can near the front counter.
The barbecue is served buffet-style from a warming area, which might explain why it wasn't fresh. It seemed like the food was pre-made and then reheated, which really impacted the quality. The pork was especially disappointing – something about it just tasted off. This barbecue was on par with Bill Miller's – not the worst, but definitely not worth the price.

If you're looking for a place with good vibes and don't care much about the food, this place might be okay. But if you're seeking quality Texas barbecue, I'd recommend looking elsewhere.

We went during the week approximately 7pm and everything was available for purchase accept the ribs. But Kelly was very welcoming and kind. She was willing to let us know the recommendations on the menu. We decided to try the three meat: brisket jalapeño sausage and pulled pork with the mac n cheese and baked beans it was DELICIOUS and that’s an understatement. We also ordered the brisket nachos and that was DELICIOUS. The meat was flavorful and tender with and without additional BBQ sauce. The cheese in the Mac n cheese was savory and the beans were sweet and brought out the savory and smoke in the meat. The environment is kid friendly the outdoor area is clean presentable and had great music. We really enjoyed the evening picking this spot. It’s worth the stop even if you know BBQ.

Kid-friendliness: They have an outdoor seating area with turf and the indoor is spacious with a few arcade games. Good place the watch the games.
