Good food fast. Icy glass of beer to wash it down. What more do you need? Would come back if I'm ever in San Antonio again.

Had never tried this place even though I've lived within walking distance. Decided to give it a go and it was amazing. The service was awesome, very friendly staff and food was ready so quick! Ordered a few different meats and sides and almost every single item was fantastic. The green beans could've used a little more seasoning but everything else was so good. Jalapeño sausage was absolutely incredible, pulled pork was so good, mac and cheese was great and the fries were amazing. The environment and ambiance was actually very relaxed and comfortable. The price was very good for the amount of food there was on the plate. Would absolutely eat here again!

I'd say that these things were exceptional about this place: the decor/ambience, and the tortillas. HOWEVER, the food is like if you tried to recreate Mexican food based off of a picture and not taste. Was the food horrible? No. It was edible, but the flavor was lacking. The enchiladas were served in a tomato sauce that resembled pasta sauce, and the tostadas were just baked corn tortillas with cheese on top. Even the kids meal burger was just meh. My family and I went because we hadn't been in years and couldn't remember the food, but I don't think we'll come back. It's not bad, but this isn't Mexican food. It just feels like a chain restaurant. The service was okay, I think the servers were spread thin among many customers, but they were nice.

My recent dining experience at this BBQ restaurant left me with a mix of flavorful highs and subtle notes of improvement. Let's start with the star of the show - the pork ribs. They were a carnivore's dream, boasting a delightful bark that added the perfect crunch to each succulent bite. The flavor was robust and left a lasting impression, setting a high standard for the rest of the meal. The sides were a solid complement to the main act. Moving on to the pulled pork and brisket, while both were good, they fell slightly short in the flavor department. The taste was there, but a bit more seasoning or a bolder rub could have elevated them to match the excellence of the pork ribs. On a positive note, the restaurant's atmosphere was a Texan haven. The decor radiated a genuine Texas vibe, immersing patrons in a warm and inviting setting. It added a layer of authenticity to the dining experience, making it more than just a meal. In conclusion, this BBQ joint is a prime destination for those craving mouthwatering pork ribs and an authentic Texas ambiance. Service was very amiable:)

The wife and I had the urge for some good barbecue. I told her I wanted to try Augies to offer we went. I met the GM Rob, who gave us a warm welcome. Ruby took our order with a great smile and it came pretty quick the food was excellent. The macaroni and cheese was creamy and flavorful. The brisket had a good smoke ring and tender, the beef rib was amazingly good. As you can see in the pictures, I looked the meat right off the bones. We will definitely be back and let others know. This place is something to try. Thanks y'all for a good lunch and excellent welcome will be back.

The Brisket Sandwich was amazing. My wife hade the Ribeye steak and omg it's better that these upper tier restaurants. Rudy our Cashier/Server was an amazing asset to the total experience of our lunch. She was very detailed and extremely well versed on the menu and drinks. We are from Florida, New York & Puerto Rico and I got to say so far from we are impressed. Thank you again. Michel & Adelaida. 01.12.2014 @3.:45pm

We walked in and there were not too many people in, but after we received our drinks from the bar in the other room, the dining area was full. We all had their ribeye steaks and they were excellent. They were cooked to order with the right amount of seasoning. They had an ample variety of sides to choose from, but no baked potato. I highly recommend Augie's Alamo City BBQ and we will return again.

A group of 6 of us ate here today, and it was incredible! I got the brisket plate, and the smoked flavor was so good! I am definitely coming back to Augies!

We were looking for a place to eat, as we try not to each much fast food, and found this little gem here in San Antonio! This place is great! Food was amazing and the customer service was outstanding. If you're looking for good BBQ and a good experience, you need to come here. Will definitely be back when I visit San Antonio.

Skip all the touristy restaurants and eat here! Great portions, excellent prices, and plenty of seating! Bring your friends and family. Food in San Antonio was not memorable except a few places - this was one of them. A lot of spots are very touristy and overpriced - Not Augie's. Definitely recommend!

Came here with my work crew recently. One of my coworkers knows the owner and suggested it. Parking lot is spacious which is great for a downtown joint. We had a spot reserved for us in the bar area away from the other diners. I went with the two meat combo, opting for dark meat chicken and brisket. My two sides were potato salad and borracho beans. The chicken was smoked nicely and the brisket was tender. I thought the beans were top notch. Wasn't terribly impressed by the potato salad though. It didn't seem to have much flavor. I assume their BBQ sauce is homemade and quite tasty. I washed it down with an electric jellyfish IPA from their draft. I really enjoyed my experience here and will likely return.

First time as a customer and the food and service was great. Had the brisket, mac and cheese and borracho beans. I consider this the real bbq! Best I've had in San Antonio.

Came here as a recommendation after my son's Graduation from the airforce. Food was great, beef ribs were meaty the brisket was my favorite. As far as sides the honey baked beans were amazing. Service was amazing. Cashier I think she was the manager as well came up to our table to talk to us congratulate my son and took some time out to give us some great words and was telling us about the owner and things they do. Very very nice. I would definitely come back next time I go down there. Owner is a Veteran and they do offer military discount.

Everything was excellent! Legit house frozen margaritas with no need for a sidecar. Best borracho beans. Pork ribs and brisket were insane and no sauce needed!!! Mac n' cheese, green beans and french fries were superb! Staff was super friendly. Next time in town, will definitely be stopping by again.
