We dropped by a late afternoon for a couple of cocktails. The room is nice a dark - the bar fully stocked. They have a nice selection of craft cocktails, wines and beers. The service staff was kind but preoccupied with something away from the bar.The music was so loud that we decided to leave after just one cocktails - impossible to have a conversation with anyone.

Slightly off the beaten path but well worth it. A hidden red door under a cigar shop leads you to the Backroom bar. Very speakeasy looking, so cool - offering just drinks. Up front is a small restaurant where you can get food and drinks from the mixologist in the Backroom bar. Drinks were good but they don't like it if you want to alter one of their signatures. Service was friendly and efficient. The food however was amazing the charcuterie board was delicious. The mixture of cheeses and meats with homemade jam on the most flavorful crostinis. I first always try a small taste of everything one at a time to get the distinct flavor prior to mixing up a combination of all the flavors at once. Despite being concerned that pizza anywhere won't compete with pizza from home we decided to try one of their speciality pies - Pancetta. It was amazing crispy pancetta with grilled onions and mozzarella on a thin crispy crust. Each piece was finger licking good. This is a must see and experience!!

Service was an absolute joke. Bar was dead and it still took 15 minutes to get a drink. Waitress was miserable.

Had a great experience during our evening out. Tried a couple of great tequilas… and had a Tequila Old Fashioned that was delicious! Definitely coming back. Great atmosphere also!

Great prices great drinks nice music and perfect small sized area to get away from the downtown outskirts and still enjoy the night with all the benefits of a social atmosphere and late closing hours

This place is nestled between S Presa and S Alamo Streets. You can actually enter from two places...either through the courtyard for the Pipe Corner at S Alamo or via the red door with the neon lit "COCKTAILS" sign and a bull wall mural at S Presa. This would be the true backdoor backroom bar entrance...not well trafficked and saves you a walk around the block of it is cold outside! The cocktails are well made and the bar staff is always nice and sociable. Beer is also at an affordable price at under $5 and there are also some craft beers on the menu too. Usually it is staffed by one bartender throughout the week, but they have a couple more on the weekends. Ive found the busyness of the patio crowd usually indicates how crowded it is inside the backroom bar. I have never had a problem getting a drink and I prefer the low-key setting. Typically there is not a cover charge compared to the more hyped up Bar America just a few doors away.It is a great place to bring friends outside the downtown touristy area. You can also buy and enjoy a smoke bought from the Pipe Corner locates up the stairs. Occasionally there is live music featuring some jazz or rock band out on the patio, so it really has a lot to offer!

The first time I went, loved it. The second time I went was super weird. Not very welcoming and service was bad. Got one terrible drink and left as soon as we could. Never going back.

I normally don’t like cocktails, but the cocktails at this place are AMAZING. Best bar I’ve ever been to. Friendly staff, great atmosphere. LOVE IT.

Drinks are great. Def real mixologists. My friend got the carajillo, I got the old fashion and we got the pineapple spicy tequila shots. ALL we perfect (which is normally rare for my friends and I). Ambiance is great, staff is friendly. Space is a little small so I recommend small groups like 3 or less. We will be back.

I'm not sure what happened the night I went but they would not let anyone in. They gave us time(s) and multiple people waited for the bar to open and it never did. I think it's weird to want to make people wait for the bar to open by giving varying times. Everyone just ended up going to Bar America. I ended up going to the coffee Co. around the corner that had a cool lounge vibe too.
