Kelli is an absolute gem! She always has the most welcoming smile and disposition.
As for the food…
The quiche = AMAZING
Puff pastry wit lemon = DROOL, amazing
… okay do I haven’t had anything I didn’t like. Maybe the egg bites, but that’s only in comparison to the quiche.

This location of Bakery Lorraine, which is situated on Louis Pasteur Drive on the South Texas Medical Center's campus, is a fantastic spot for a bite! :-) I recently visited for the first time with a group of my girlfriends for a midday lunch out of the office, and it was a wonderful experience. First, the staff are very kind & helpful, and the space is immaculately clean + well-kept. There is lots of seating, so it didn't feel too crowded when we visited (even though it was at peak lunch time). Their food is awesome - I was honestly kind of blown away by their Turkey Pesto sandwich. It came with chips + a pickle, and all of it was just perfect - SO tasty!! I can't wait to return to Bakery Lorraine in the future. I particularly want to check-out their location within The Historic Pearl!!

Decent place but nothing special. Food is good, service was ok/good. (Had to ask a few times for our pastries and coffees) Being known for its bakery items and coffees this was a little disappointing. Overall the breakfast items were ok but we felt lacked a bit in seasoning (especially the avocado toast w/ salmon) Would probably go back if the prices reflected the service/food quality but prices were a little higher then what we felt they deserved for a self serve style restaurant. $80 for a party of three.

Everything was overpriced for what it was- bland food. They couldn’t even take the time to make my cortado pleasant looking (see pic). My Cuban had good flavor but the avocado toast with salmon had no flavor at all, some salt at least would have helped. The almond croissant was delicious though and so were the macarons. You can definitely go there for the bakery items, I just wouldn’t go back to have breakfast/lunch. Also, you don’t get waited on at all so you have to get your own water, silverware, napkins etc.

I’m truly sorry to have to give this place this rating. I’ve been wanting to try it for YEARS and we finally had an opportunity to come.

First impressions when we walked in was great. I love cute, decorated cafes that feel welcome and homey. It was pretty empty when we got here but started getting busier after a while.

My first problem was the price. It was faintly expensive. And look, I don’t mind paying a lot for food, I love trying different places, but you have to feel the value is there. So I wasn’t put off by the price until I experienced the food. We ordered the breakfast sandwich (I chose sausage as the protein), my wife got the avocado toast and added smoked salmon, I got my son the stack of 3 pancakes from the kids menu and added 1 scrabbled egg, then we got 2 baked goods, 3 macarons, and two lattes. It came out to $85. We got a lot but that’s still on the pricier side. Again, he price really wasn’t the issue yet.

Even though there were only a couple people in here before we got here (and they already had their orders) it took 30 minutes to get ours!! The , my wife and I got ours, and it took another 5-10 minutes for my sons pancakes and scrabbled egg to come out. Not only that when they brought our food, it was luke warm 😔 so the good, bad, and ugly about the food.

The lattes (cinnamon toast and pumpkin pie) were delicious. They were super tasty and I liked them a lot. My food was really tasty. The sausage wasnt just a frozen patty, it seems like it was made fresh. But I saw my sandwich sitting out there for at least 10 minutes getting cold. They were also super cheap with the potato chunks. They were good, but for a $15 plate, I felt they were skimpy and barely warm. My wife’s plate was pretty good. I mean the smoked salmon was alright. They put a poached egg on it but it wasn’t even runny. They overcooked it. So meh. My plate was a 6/10. It would have been better if it was warmer. My wife’s maybe a 7 out of 10. When my son FINALLY got his food.. again.. disappointing. The pancakes were extremely mid. They weren’t really fluffy and lacked flavor. We waited 30 minutes for this plate. My 6 year old son that loved and wanted pancakes at the egg first… that never happens. I don’t think he finished half the pancakes.

The only thing I haven’t tried yet is the pastries. I wanted to write this review while I had time, since it’s been such a disappointment. I’ll come edit it once I’ve tried them and hopefully it’s redeeming.

I’m glad I tried this place, I’ve wanted to come here for a while, but it was a let down. I’d much rather go to The Baked Bird where the prices are about the same, but great portions, it’s fresh and warm, and you can literally eat the pancakes without syrup.

While the deserts are amazing, service is not.

If someone orders a variety of macaroons (with 8 types available in the display) - this is not what you’re expecting to find in a sealed box.

Wt… is this?

Great spot to come work or have a meeting.
It’s quieter than the other locations. Parking is limited but inside the staff are nice and great coffee.
I didn’t get a photo but my daughter loved the avocado toast.

They have a very small selection of pastry goods, for being a bakery.
