What the Google rating doesn't tell you is that the chef is a seven-time nominee. Service was excellent. A large and diverse wine menu, even during Covid. Atmosphere was tasteful and mature. Food was surprisingly good: salmon was cooked perfectly, lamb was seasoned and cooked very well, the sauces were solid, apps were well executed. It is a good value, too. The finest restaurant in San Antonio is no more, and it is a terrible shame. Bella was incredible on so any levels. It had the finest service, due to keeping the most tenured staff in the city. It had a great wine selection, carefully curated by the owner. It had the greatest meals, perfectly prepared with creativity and the finest ingredients. And Bella had to close because the fools that run this city believed they had the authority to decide who and what was essential, and...
