Stumbling across a gem like Biga is like finding that you've got the winning cricket jersey from an Australian World Cup Final - a rare and joyous occasion indeed! I had the distinct privilege of hosting my dad's 65th birthday bash at this venerated San Antonio establishment and let me tell ya, it was a ripper! The radiant ergonomics of the space gleamed with an aura of sophistication, evoking an atmosphere that had my heart bouncing like a kangaroo in the outback.Have you ever had the experience of downing a red velvet martini that, like a didgeridoo performance, reverberates through your being? Well, if not, then Biga will redefine the cocktail game for you. Every sip was like diving into a lush, velvet sea, chinning a heady and tantalizing journey through the echelons of mixology. Now let's all just take a moment to appreciate the culinary bravura of the chef. The lamb was as succulent as a ripe mango on a hot summer day at Bondi beach. The precision of the cooking struck a chord with me, the meaty melody of flavors humming a delectable tune. The salmon too reeled in heaps of praise from our party, flaking perfectly onto our forks - a true triumph from the deep sea.Yet, what tied this gastronomical journey together was the final act, the sweet climax: a sticky date pudding that had everyone at the table raising their spoons in admiration. It was served with a lovely note from the kitchen that added an endearing touch to the already joy-filled atmosphere, like a friendly 'G'day' from a fellow Aussie. All in all, Biga impressed with its fusion of elegant dining, sensational flavors and inviting hospitality. It comes together brilliantly, offering an experience that is, to put it simply, 'fair dinkum.' I sail out with a grin like a shark that's just chomped on a great white. So score one for Biga, earning a well-deserved 5-star review from yours truly. As I would say in good ol' Aussie terms, Biga, you've done us a beauty!

Biga was my go-to-place to enjoy the fine dining experience that San Antonio could offer. The atmosphere, still wonderful like always, however the food and the service has degraded. I was disappointed on the foie gras. It came sired, but under cooked. The main course (lamb) was served lukewarm and even though it did not lacked in flavor it had a rubbery texture. Don’t get me started with the wine recommendations and how the wine was served. We skipped dessert in fear of continuing our disappointment. As I left, sadness came over me as I had made wonderful Epicurious experiences at Biga.

Our anniversary celebration at Biga on the Banks was an unforgettable culinary journey. From the moment we stepped in, the ambiance exuded elegance and charm, setting the stage for a memorable evening. We embarked on a culinary adventure by ordering nearly all the appetizers, and we were not disappointed. The chicken fried oysters and foie gras were standout dishes, each bite bursting with flavor and executed with finesse. For our main course, the lamb rack stole the show with its impeccable preparation. Cooked to a perfect medium-rare, the lamb was tender and succulent, elevating the dining experience to new heights. Each bite was a symphony of flavors, leaving us craving for more. One of the highlights of the evening was the Texas Antelope and Quail dish, a testament to the restaurant's commitment to sourcing locally. Every component of the dish, from the antelope to the quail, showcased the rich flavors of Texas, highlighting the culinary diversity of the region.Throughout the evening, the wait staff provided impeccable service, attending to our every need with warmth and professionalism. We were treated like royalty, further enhancing our dining experience.Overall, Biga on the Banks exceeded all our expectations, offering a culinary journey that delighted the senses and left a lasting impression. Whether it's a special occasion or a casual dining experience, this restaurant is a must-visit for anyone seeking an exceptional gastronomic adventure.

Was there for a corporate dinner. When the staff found out I had a shellfish allergy and couldn't eat the appetizer they went out of their way to make me something delicious that I could eat. Outstanding service and food was delicious!

Ordered the $49 three course meal that comes with butternut squash and corn bisque, Scottish salmon, and English toffee. I enjoyed all three courses, but thought the salmon was a little dry. I really like that they constantly change out the menu.

While in San Antonio without kids, we decided to treat ourselves to a wonderful night out. We made reservations the day before and were seated at 8:15. Our server was very attentive without disturbing us, which is very important to me. We started with the Escargot. My husband enjoyed it, but it wasn’t my favorite. There are many mushrooms in the dish. I ordered the lamb chops and they were medium. They were absolutely perfect and the cheese grits were a nice addition. My husband enjoyed his antelope and quail entree. He also ordered the antelope at a medium temp, but would have preferred it a bit more done. The atmosphere is gorgeous and we enjoyed watching everyone on the River Walk. The cocktails were excellent and the wine selection was extensive. Our server suggested perfect pairings for our meal. We had a fantastic evening and will return.

Made a reservation a few weeks in advance and requested a river view. Arrived shortly before the resy time and was taken to a ri er view table nestled in a nook all by itself. This made the evening start nicely. Had the foie gras and escargot appetizers, and they both were excellent. Main courses were salmon and ribeye, and both were on point. Our waiter was perfect, providing the table with the exact amount of service needed and all with impeccable timing. Maybe all this was just luck, but it was one of the best meals and experiences I've had dining.Kid-friendliness: Please do not bring kids here.

Biga has and will always be our go to while in town. The food is *chefs kiss* and the service is amazing! A huge shout out to Ryan for taking great care of my husband and I while we celebrated our anniversary. His customer service and attention to detail should be modeled by all those who work in the restaurant/food service industry!
