Wait staff needs some training. And the fact that the expensive red burgundy was not properly stored or served was a large red flag. Food was quite wonderful but service shortcomings and loudness of dining room diminish the experience.

We recently moved to San Antonio and this was our first fine dining experience in our new city. We ordered the Chef's Tasting menu with wine pairings in order to try multiple dishes. The food was elevated and creative, even though I know we were enjoying many of the restaurant's “greatest hits” that the kitchen has prepared every night for years. The service was equally impressive - I spent my career in luxury retail and cannot help but watch everything that happens in a service business. From the hostess and managers, to our wonderful server and the team that supported her, it was a fun meal with top-notch yet very relaxed service - exactly our style and we cannot wait to go back.

An outstanding dining experience! Food and service and atmosphere were all impeccable, although it got a little loud as the evening progressed. We had chef's specials: a ribeye steak and watermelon salad. Superb! Corn fritters performed true to public acclaim! The service was constant though never interruptive: as good a balancing act as I've experienced! I know now why Bliss receives all the accolades!

We were celebrating our anniversary and felt special from the moment we walked in the door. The food was absolutely delicious and special, and we appreciated the presentation and small plates. We split the octopus appetizer and it was almost a work of art, as well as being delicious and special. I had the scallops and my husband had monk fish - both were cooked to perfection and beautifully presented. We split the butter cake for dessert and it topped off the perfect meal. Would highly recommend Bliss to anyone who wants a special meal served with impeccable service.

I have to start with how great the staff was during my visit. They were extremely informative on all the food I had questions about all the while being very kind and attentive to my needs. The food was incredible from the appetizers to my main course. Everything had a great taste and was cooked to perfection. I am looking forward to returning here to try more of the food. I will say the price of my bill was high but it was worth every penny due to my dining experience. It is important to treat yourself to fine dining every once in awhile and it was my pleasure being a guest at Bliss.

As well travelled foodies my wife and I I booked a table at Bliss while visiting San Antonio for a family wedding. This restaurant is an absolute gem well known to the locals and we’ve racked our brains to think of a better meal that we’ve had in the great cities of the culinary world, London, Rome, Paris, Tokyo, New York and find it hard to beat. If you’re in this part of Texas it should be first restaurant on your list. Sorry we can’t add any food pics but we were being old fashioned and enjoying the food and wine.
I never leave reviews, but the food and service was so amazing I have to give the place 5 stars. We went for dinner and ordered the oysters, scallops, and steak. All of it was absolutely delicious.

I would definitely come here again. The food and service were outstanding. I had the short ribs, which were excellent. My wife ordered the vegetarian bowl, and OMG… it was incredible! I could’ve eaten that (I ate 1/4 of it) for my meal and been very happy.
For appetizers we had the corn fritters, octopus, and hamachi. The corn was fine, the octopus was good, but the hamachi stole the show. Get it!
Dessert was solid too. Most of the table got the butter cake (outstanding… like a strawberry shortcake). I ordered the panna cotta. It was extremely sour. If you at it with the coconut topping it was perfect, but there wasn’t enough coconut to do that. For someone who loves sour, this was too sour.
My only surprise and very minor disappointment of the evening was learning Bliss doesn’t have full bar. It’s “beer, wine, and bubbles” only. I would’ve liked a cocktail, but they did have some interesting sake.
While this restaurant was not inexpensive, it was far lower priced for the value and quality than I’d have expected. I’ve paid far more for less at very nice places before.
10/10. Definitely will come back.
