We were so excited to try this place based on reviews. Unfortunately, we did not have a good experience. Once seated I had to flag a wait person over after a good 10 mins. We put in our drink order first. Two of us ordered sake. The mango sake was sweet and yummy. The pineapple was flavorless UNTIL we got to the bottom of the white ceramic carafe and gobs of thick syrup poured out. Why were we served unmixed sake?? We ordered our food and I told the waiter we were going to catch a show so please bring out the food as it was ready. The appetizers came out quickly and were good. 25 mins later I asked the waiter about the main dishes, as we had watched people who came in after us bring served. He assured us they were coming. The clock was ticking. The poke bowl came out then 5 mins later the roll. Finally I flagged down the waiter again and told him to box up the ramen that still had not come and a to go box for the poke bowl I didn't get to enjoy. Like I said, not a good experience and we won't be back.

I had heard about @bluefin_sanantonio opening but hadn’t seen any reviews yet on the San Antonio Restaurant Facebook page. We thought to check it out for Sunday lunch. The reviews that I read spoke highly of the great service and quality. They opened about 6 months ago and have locations in different parts of Austin. This location is at The Rim right next to Tiago’s.

Dad had Pink Lemonade, I had the non-alcoholic Pina Colada, and Hubby had the UCC Iced Green Tea. Dad and Hubby shared the Eby Fry with the mayo and masago on the side and the Agedashi Tofu. The Wagyu Hot Rock was tasty and awesome value at $18. We shared the Bluefin Special Roll but did the non-spicy version without the jalapenos and habanero masago on the side. Hubby and I each had a Mixed Green Salad then we shared the Fatty Yellowtail and Fatty Salmon.

This place definitely has a great variety of food and drinks and is top notch. True to the reviews, multiple servers stopped by to check on us. We didn’t even try their ramen yet. Next time might have to be during happy hour as well. Looking forward to going back!

Great little spot with friendly, fast service. Highly recommend the spicy chicken ramen and chicken katsu bento box. Would definitely return to this restaurant.

I got the Omakase Sushi Combo which was around $26. It’s just a regular chef’s choice sushi combo plate (not omakase in the real sense of the word), and came out by itself. It does not include soup or salad (which is very bizarre as in my experience anywhere else they came with both), and my whole plate was soaking wet where the fish was, which was extremely off putting. The waiters were very kind, and the inside looked very clean and pretty. It was also festive. Food was unfortunately a let down especially at that price point.

Maybe it’s what I got but I don’t think so because it was amazing! I recently moved from the PNW and live farther WSATX and have been missing good sushi and this place was amazing! I got some sashimi and a bluefin roll and they were amazing! Tasted fresh and so delicious! This place definitely is one of the best actual sushi places in the area so far I’ve tried! Will be back

We started with the spicy garlic edamame which was delicious. Our entrees were the Flaming VIP sushi and the Tonkatsu ramen spicy bowl with a side of there regular chicken fried rice. Overall, the food was beyond what we expected, the service is great, the staff are nice . We will definitely be back!

update: we went 2 more times and sat at the sushi bar, Luke is an excellent sushi chef and we love this place!

Hidden gem! If you're not paying attention you can pass right by this place. Friendly staff, great flavor, and good portion size. Had a craving for ramen and was not disappointed. Restaurant has a local vibe to it but with a standard for quality food and service. It's on my list for lunch/dinner. Need to try their sushi offerings.
