Bud Jones Restaurant

I am not sure what has happened at Bud Jones. For two years we have ranted and raved to friends in Dallas. We could not wait to get there again. So we went two days ago with delightful anticipation and we left feeling so let down. Yes the chicken fried steak was as big as your head but it was over cooked, a little tough and had dark exterior like the grease was old. Yes the All you eat fish was just that...allbyou eat. But I had to stop the waitress from bringing more basically for the same reason. It looked dark yet the fish appeared not cooked enough. The coleslaw that I had bragged so much about obviously has changed is would not be something I bragged about. The waitress was very good and very nice so that was nice. I did watching h hostess seat someone in a booth that missing pieces of vinyl so she was sitting g basically on foam. Almost all of the outside lighting of their name was out....all you saw at night NES....it was just so said. It was like people have stopped caring and are just concerned about revenue. After all they have been through over the years it is a shame to see it come to such a point. On our next trip San Antonio...and w9e go there alot...I must say we will not be going to Bud Jones...It is not worth the $42.00 price tag.

Bud Jones is a classic SA spot. Good enough food and great, feel like home service. I had the cheese enchilada special, I’d give it 4 Stars on an even playing field and 5 stars considering it was only 8.99.

This has always been a favorite spot to go and eat at with my family. Tim has been. our server the past few times I've gone in and he is amazing. So polite, so attentive and great personality..

Always great food. Ordered a BLT (not even on the menu) and they had no problem making it for me. Fried mushrooms 🍄 yummy 😋. Our waiter was amazing a well!

Just finished our meals. Devoured them! Didn’t even take photos. We had chicken friend chicken and the grilled hamburger steak. Sides were mashed potatoes, salad and AMAZING green beans! Five STARS ⭐️! If you’re lucky to get “Red” (Ashley) as your server - enjoy!

This was our favorite place to pick up fish to go. We’ve been coming once a week for a long time. Last two times we got at least one piece that the meat was hard and rubbery. The worst part is that what used to be one piece is now cut in half and they make two pieces out of one. They try to make up for it by giving you an extra piece of fish lol so when you buy a family order you basically end up getting half of what you used to get . 😞 I would rather pay a couple of dollars more but keep the quality and quantity.

Very delicious, large quantity. Ordered the chicken fried steak, 3 piece fish plate, appetizer fried pickles and a salad. All 3 of us shared and still had leftovers. Drinks were all water and the bill was only $44. Will visit again when in town!

Not worth the price 15.99 for some corn tortillas with sauce. Disappointing, they should just close if they are gonna raise the price and lower food quality.
