I ordered the Rockport shrimp and two sides of onion rings. Very delicious meal that will leave you filling satisfied. I ordered the hushpuppies and although a bit dry, they were still good to eat and I did eat them all. A nice family owned restaurant that's worth a try if you're in the neighborhood.

We finally came back after about 4 years, thanks to seeing SA Live there yesterday. We were never going to set foot in that restaurant again with the horrible service, sub-par food, 3% credit card fee (still exists) and a poor attitude from the lady we were giving our hard earned money to at the register. Today, we were greeted by Jannita who's been serving folks for 26 years here. She was extremely delightful and showed that she loves her job through and through. She has a true pride and purpose in helping those she serves to ensure they're satisfied and happy with their meal. The food was good and better than expected. I had the fried fish & shrimp (shrimp was a little over cooked since they're so small) and hubby had a late breakfast which he said was great (other than the tiny pieces of bacon served on his plate, they should get more quality bacon😉) After our meal, I'm glad to say that we revisited and have decided that we will return in the near future. This family owned restaurant has truly stepped up their game for sure!!

First off you want really good service? Ask for Richard or Daja. They both are really good and won’t give you ANY ATTITUDE!
Second, this restaurant is not a 5 star dining restaurant, it is a mom and pop restaurant with tons of flavorful food. You want a steak or a 5 star meal, go eat downtown. This food here is comfort food, and boy will you feel comforted. This restaurant does need some remodeling but hey the food does not.
Third, I will agree with some reviews, this place is expensive when it comes to a plate of enchiladas or a fish basket. Hopefully they can have some special for the ones, like myself (who can’t really afford going out all the time). I will always continue to support and come back to eat my plate of enchiladas though.

This is one of the best family restaurant in the city.They serve chicken fried chicken,chicken fried steak,Fish,enchiladas,burgers,salads and more.Waiters/Waitress are very kind and everything is very affordable.There's alot of room and theirs vending machines for the kids.It truly does not get better than this place.(ps their food comes really big to fill you up.

Bud Jones Food has always been good ,so good its worth fmdriving in from Corpus Christi. Only thing I didn't like was the 3% for using a debit card ..guess I have to start using cash again .
