We were in the Embassy Suites San Antonio Landmark area, so we visited @cheddarskitchen for lunch yesterday. Love the complimentary Honey Croissants. Dad and I shared the Ribs and Shrimp with mashed potato and a side salad. Hubby had the Country Fried Steak with mashed potato and corn. The ribs were tender. Both dishes were decent and Sahara got us in and out of there in no time. If you need some lunch in the area, go check it out!

The waitress suggested the chicken fried steak so when said I wanted that she said they are out of gravy and if that would be ok?... I ended up getting something else but it was cold. My kids got fried and chicken strips. The fries were more cold than warm. The croissants were room temp. The only thing served hot and fresh was the cheese bites but they were really greasy. I hadn't been here in years and if that was my experience back then .. it makes sense why it's been so long.

Cheddar's is my low-key spot to have a solid meal for a great price. Where else can you get tender ribs and a med steak for $22 and it's good?
Got seated quickly and staff was friendly but the Monte Cristo (usually good) was mushy and weird. Seems like QC needs a bit of work.

Got a sirloin 8 oz with a rack of ribs. The sirloin was some crappy store quality seasoned garbage steak cooked to death. I asked for it to be medium rare and they cooked it to the point where the steak was so tough it almost broke my cutlery.

Got there around 11:30AM and greeted with smiles and well wishes. Not crowded at all but people were slowly arriving. Our server Trey was amazing and the food was fresh and brought out quickly. We had cheese bites to start, chicken fried chicken, and I had the ribeye (tender) topped with garlic butter. We drank diet coke for balance haha.
