I've got mixed feelings about Chicken Express. I ordered online for take out, and I came to find out that my order was incorrect. I was handed a sealed bag with our family meal, and I should have checked it at the restaurant...I got home and discovered I was missing part of my order.
The food we did get was okay, nothing great, but it's affordable and the kids like the chicken. I'm more disappointed about the order being messed up than the food quality.
The staff was friendly, but they need to work on their quality control.

I very often have lunch at this location, the food is affordable, and the portions are more then sufficient. The staff is particularly helpful, shout out Karalyn, and Jannae, they deserve raises, and are the complete assets.????
Only reason I went to this place is because TX rapper BigXThePlug was talking about it. He made it sound really good and he wasn’t wrong yeeurrr

So happy that chicken express is expanding in San Antonio! This location is fantastic, I’ve gone through the drive thru twice now and everything has exceeded my expectations.
Been to this new location a couple of times. It does not meet up with the quality of food I've come to enjoy from other Chicken E locations. I hope they fix the dry chicken strips because it's the closest location to our home.

I ordered food and when I left was missing several items. When I went back I waited over 10 minutes for my missing items, which of course I’d proof they never made the items, charged me for them and l owing my did not give them to me!

I went through the drive-through and ordered the order of chicken gizzards with gravy and a roll, fried okra and an apple pie along with sweet tea. I gave the three stars for the food not because it was necessarily bad food, but the fried okra was so over fried and hard that it was a little difficult to eat it. I was worried about the chicken gizzards because usually places like this over cook the gizzards and they are usually kind of hard. But they do not cook the gizzards until you order them, so they were very fresh. They might have been a minute or so cooked too long, but they were still very tasty and very good. I just wish people would understand you don’t have to cook gizzards for that long. And for that matter, that goes for fried okra as well. It cooks fast and you don’t have to cook it very long. I was more disappointed about the okra, which is why I gave them the three stars. Don’t really have anything bad to say about them and I will go back just to try maybe the chicken tenders and the actual fried chicken. But it was a good visit today and I’m glad I went by there.
