I have been coming to this bakery since it was Chicos. I know the prices have been rising in cost, but tonight would be the last time I spend a dime at this place. I was charged $37 for the following pieces of pan dulce and a half dozen (6) of tamales that were cold! I asked the lady to explain how much each piece was, and she said the tamales were 10 dollars and the pan dulce was $26!!! I've gone to other places and have gotten a lot more pieces for under $20. I'd recommend La Mejor bakery or Fiesta bakery on Pleasanton Rd.

I don’t like to give reviews but this must be known There was only one person selling there and the sweet bread was not that good for the prices we got 7 pieces and one pack of tortillas and it was $34.00 and some change that was outrageous never going back again letting my friends know. If they wanna try for themselves well I did warned them ☹️☹️☹️☹️

No matter how enjoyable the pan dulce, you will leave with buyers remorse. I paid $30 for a box of donuts.... incredible! Creating solid pricing with transparency would be my recommendation. You can't help but feeling surprised when you walk out as a consumer. Growing up in San Antonio, having Sundays with Barbacoa and pastries with family was such a treat, as a local in the area it's hard to share that simple experience with the prices here.

-* Went yesterday 02/11/2024 to buy 1 pkg. flour tortillas $7, 1 small concha $2, 1 maranito $2, 1 cinnamon twist $1, 2 cuernitos $4 3 empanadas $6 when I paid for the items the lady charged me $26 for everything. After I got home I called and asked for the price of everything and it totaled $22 according to the answer for each item. So I guess Johanna (name on the receipt) helped herself to a hefty tip. Next time IF we go back I will request an itemized receipt.

Horrible experience. Language barrier for others. I love to support mom and pop business, but $13 for 7 pieces of sweet bread is a little outrageous when the bread with butter is rock hard and i got 2. It was not fresh. I gave away to a homeless person outside. Sorry I will not be returning.

3rd time we have bought the cinnamon twist each time it is 1/2 cooked raw dough inside. The prices are not marked so each time we go different pricing on everything. The tamales were awesome the first few times but the last 3times wrapped very messy not consistent. Unfortunately will not be returning the first couple times it was good went downhill after that because as much as it is should be the best and unfortunately it has not. As you can tell in the picture the twist was not cooked properly very doughy.Thank you for the reply: our reply is:We truly understand everyone makes mistakes but when it is food you do need to make sure your employees are making sure the food is cooked thoroughly. Unfortunately their mistakes or lack of caring look bad on your business. We hate leaving neg. reviews but this was the 3rd time in the twist and 2nd time on the tamales. Thank you for the offer but we will pass. We did not leave the review to be mean but just to bring it to your attention. When we first started going there we promoted your business handing out your business card to a lot of people we do care about local small businesses and at first it was good just can’t promote any more. God bless you as well it is not easy listening to errors but that’s how businesses fix them to improve.

The tamales don’t have any flavor or sauce. It was the worst customer service. The bread they had wasn’t fresh, when we tried eating it, it was beyond dry and hard. We paid 40 dollars for afew pieces that we can’t eat. At this point it’s a health risk. Please stay away from this overpriced place. ?

I give this place 1star and that is still a high rating in my opinion . The signage outside is what gets it a 1. The pan dulce was hard and dry tasted like two day old pan, not fresh tasting at all. They had a lot of sweets to choose from,we got a variety and not one was soft or fresh tasting . The price is so high I paid 32 and some change for about 9/10 pieces of pan dulce , a personal size pecan pie and two cups of atole. I know prices have increased but I feel robbed when I left . I wasn't given a receipt so I just paid and walked out . My only gain is I will not return to this place ever !

Will NEVER go there Again!!! Had heard about it being Really good. Was on that side of town remembered & stopped. Bought some pan dulce to take to the coast the next morning.Thinking it would be sooo good!! ?Yeah NOooo! That day I tasted the concha & it was already hard. Tried the campechana & it wasn’t even crispy!! Needless to say in the morning ALL bread was HARD & NASTY!!!Mind you NOTHING is Priced so you just pay Outrageous Prices….I paid $17.00 for ONLY 6 pieces of bread ? Winded up just throwing it ALL away! What a waste of $17.00. Wish I could’ve gotten my money back!! ?
