Our favorite Chinese restaurant in the San Antonio area. The portions are generous and the food is delicious! The people are the best! I absolutely love this place and have been going for over a decade.
UPDATE:
Sadly, it seems like China Sun has changed hands and it is no longer the gem it once was. The wonton soup was very salty. The food was passable, but no where near the standard we were used to. I don't think we'll return.

So happy to find Bakmi Kalimantan here. The noodles are so flavorful and authentic, just like the ones back home. The toppings were generous, and the broth tasted rich and comforting. Definitely a hidden gem for anyone craving real Indonesian noodles. I’ll be back for sure!

Took this photo right before the roach came out and boy was I grossed out. Even other patrons were looking around waiting to see if they wanted to still eat there. I let the staff know because that is NASTY! Not false information when multiple people were aware. No need to lie. Clean up time....1 2 3 Goooooooo!!! HEALTH DEPARTMENT ALSO MADE AWARE

Ask for the Indonesian Menu!
We heard this place serves Indonesian food, so we drove from Austin to check it out.
Driving up this spot didn't look so impressive. We considered turning around. So glad we didn't. The food is amazing!
It's ostensibly a Chinese Restaurant, so you have to ask for the Indonesian Menu. But the word must be out because the place was half full at 2:30pm (way off peak) and you could hear bits of Indonesian language from each of the other tables.
The kids had Satay Ayam (chicken skewers in peanut sauce). My wife had Soto Betwawi (coconut, beef soup with potato, tomato and lemongrass). I had Nasi Padang (it's all the good stuff- coconut curry beef, curry watercress soup, boiled fried and spiced eggs... too much to list). It was all 100% legit.
The style is Kalimantan (Borneo), but you will easily recognize the dishes no matter what style your used to. If you're not already familiar with Indonesian food, you'll have a new favorite food. The spices are fragrant and the flavors pop. This is the best Indonesian food we have had in America, and we've been to dozens of Indonesian restaurants from coast to coast.
