Wow, everything was amazing. If you have the privilege of being served by my man DJ you won't be disappointed.

Food and service were awesome! Shrimp seemed a bit over priced. I highly recommend the lamb!

Went to dinner and ordered a variety of things. The food was amazing. We ordered the lambchops for our main meal and they were so juicy and fresh. We had the oysters and beets for appetizers and they were to die for. Be prepare to spend money, but the quality of the food is well worth it. The service was also excellent.

Outstanding location for tasty Creole. Staff treated us so kindly. Bring your hunger - portions are generous.

Absolutely fantastic! Not many restaurants actually deserve a full 5 stars but this is the time where you wish there were more. Special thanks to our server DJ for making our evening. Everything positive you have read in the reviews are spot on and then some. We had the specialty oysters with crab, Bessel sprouts, escargot and followed it up with the smoked duck Dirty (with BBQ shrimp). Execution was amazing and the ambiance was perfect. By far one of the best meals I’ve had.

You could almost think you were in a real city when eating here! ;) atmosphere it's perfect with tropical potted plants and garden lights surrounding you on the patio/porch, and inside an intimate collection of tables around the band and kitchen. The food is above anywhere else in midtown and always has an original new flavor twist that makes you think "why hasn't anyone else done this before?!" I hope The Cookhouse stays this lovely forever.

Blessed to have such an incredible addition to the culinary scene here in SA! Compliments to the shuckers in the back for the consistently beautifully shucked oysters. Compliments to the friendly staff and management! I highly suggest coming for an early dinner on the patio, enjoy an aperitif, linger with some bubbles and enjoy dinner!

Unique flavor and creative dishes. A must visit!

People there were great, food was great too. Lots of complexity and layers in the dish made it the best blackened catfish I've had. I had okra amandine there a while ago, been trying to make it at home to no avail, but what matters about that is the restaurants that inspire me to recreate dishes are the ones I appreciate the most.

Pea risotto was amazing! The rest of the food was a tad too salty for me though. Cute live jazz band, and not too loud either. Good service and adequately spaced tables for safety.

Wow wow wow if I could give 10 stars I would! To start off by walking up and being greeted by your friendly staff was amazing, our server Jose was phenomenal! The food was just mouth watering. We tasted a lot of food that night but what particularly stuck out to me were the Escargot Rockefeller and your Lamb Chops! Just amazing, my favorite!! We had a larger party so the band/music was a tad to loud to hear across the table and our server at times but overall just a great experience can't wait to return.

My husband and I came here for our first anniversary this past weekend. We had been two other times before they remodeled. The new look is very fresh and nice! The food, as always, was delicious - one of a kind. Oysters were on point, both the raw and chargrilled. Boudin balls were a must, and we even asked for extra pickles! We both ordered our entree flounder dish DIRTY... which means it includes BBQ shrimp. Hello, best of both worlds! Our server, Jose, was so much fun and very accommodating. Obviously, we will be back but next time we will specifically request Jose. You have to try this place!
