Today’s visit to Cullum’s Attaboy was nothing short of spectacular, a beautiful blend of elevated comfort, inventive flavors, and a genuinely warm counter‑service charm. As a Michelin Bib Gourmand recognized gem in Tobin Hill, this cozy bungalow continues to deliver on its promise of “affordable French luxury” The Dishes We Devoured- • BTR Poached Scallop & Hollandaise Softly poached scallop bathed in champagne and clarified butter, brightened with lemon and orange peel—a delicate, elegant contrast to the more common pan-seared scallop. A refined opener that set the tone beautifully. • Spudnuts 1915 A nostalgic treasure, imagine a doughnut made from potato and flour, yielding a pillowy interior cloaked in a crisp exterior and dusted with powdered sugar. This quirky, light‑hearted treat was both surprising and delightful • Brisket Eggs Benedict ($29) Poached eggs and rich hollandaise landed atop homemade English muffins with house-cured brisket (akin to pastrami), plus a shimmer of caviar. Luxurious and balanced, it elevates a brunch classic into something extraordinary • Pancakes Decadently fluffy pancakes served with butter and maple syrup, simple yet luxurious. Scrumptious, especially when paired with a side like eggs or bacon. • Savory French Toast Creamy, soft eggs topped with shaved truffles perched atop toasty bread, this dish redefined indulgence and proved that French toast could feel opulent without losing comfort appeal. Ambience & Atmosphere- The vibe is intimate and chic, yet entirely unpretentious. Your server’s warmth and the short-order counter format made it feel like brunch with friends. The décor is a quiet ode to San Antonio’s musical and cultural roots—quiet, soulful, and deeply welcoming . Why It Works Cullum’s Attaboy shines because it marries playfulness with precision. Think Champagne-poached scallops, caviar‑topped benedicts, and potato‑based doughnuts—each dish is inventive yet accessible. Local love is clear: reviewers praise the unparalleled hollandaise, decadent brunch offerings, and attentive service. Redditors even hail the pancakes as “legit the best I’ve ever had” From every poached scallop to each divine mouthful of truffled toast, Cullum’s Attaboy made brunch feel like a celebration. It strikes that rare balance: inventive, luxurious, but always welcoming. Whether you’re a San Antonio devotee or a visitor exploring the St. Mary’s Strip, this place deserves a seat at the top of your brunch list, which it surely tops.
Food is delicious and well prepared. I thoroughly enjoy dining here. The staff and excellent service is a plus.

This place is truly special, highly recommend overall 10/10
I dislike writing negative reviews but I want to save others from ordering the wrong thing and perhaps the restaurant will take more caution in serving unfit food. The breakfast burger (small burger with an egg/bacon) was terrible. Not just bad, but almost difficult to get through the salty dryness. It's a shame, it looked good on the plate, but was overcooked with no flavor. The $5 glaze sauce that they praised didn't rescue the dryness but added an unneeded soy sauce saltiness taste.
Perhaps if they hadn't overcooked the burger to death it would have been decent, but when they change $30 for a small burger, they don't get any room for grace. At that price every burger needs to come out full of flavor, juicy, and exceptional.
Moving on from the bad burger experience, there are some things this place does well. The pancakes had good flavor and were enjoyed by many at the table. The atmosphere is hip and unique. The servers were nice and relatively attentive.

Really liked the location and the concept for this restaurant. My husband and I got the Benedict (add truffle) and the steak and eggs. The cut of steak really could have been good because the consistency was good but given how undercooked and unseasoned it was, just didn’t work. This is coming from someone who orders their steak rare and salt and pepper is all a good steak needs. The eggs that came with it were watery, no taste, and the kind of eggs you get from a box. The Benedict was better and rescued by the truffle. The eggs were poached very well but the brisket left a lot to desire. The pancakes were indeed very good, tasty, and fluffy. This is the reason I gave it a 3.
The staff was nice but know that it’s order at the front, get your own utensils and drinks kind of place.

It’s not every day that you find a culinary experience like this. It almost seems understated to call it a restaurant — we could not have been more thrilled with Attaboy.
We came in for breakfast and sat at the “Chef’s Table” (the bar looks into the open-concept kitchen) and immediately knew we made the right choice. The staff’s passion for cooking was so clear and obvious as they cooked our order. Both in taste and service, the food was above and beyond our wildest dreams.
The “spudnuts” were out of this world, and only to be topped by our meal. There’s no point listing out what else we ate, because I’m not sure you can go wrong with anything on the menu.
If you’re just visiting San Antonio, be sure to leave the downtown area and get out to the St. Mary’s restaurant area and support these incredible, authentic places. If you’re local, make this your new brunch place.
10/10 and can’t wait to come back

It was pretty much serve yourself place to eat. Get your our menu, drink, utensils, etc. Came with family and no one finished their plate.
Food is very buttery and salty came out in 2 seconds which makes us believe it all came from a bag. Tasted like from a bag and was cold and hard to eat potatoes.

Stepped off a San Antonio St Mary’s neighborhood street into a France-dates-Texas-esque café’ across the big pond on a Sunday for brunch and were glad for the trip – wonderful atmosphere, smart snappily turned out staff and fantastic food amidst vintage jazz and very jazzed patrons. Just missed the Paris Olympics, but won’t miss a chance for another stop at Attaboy…
