I’ve had Curry Boys on my list of restaurants to try for a while, and since I was in the area, I finally gave it a shot. We ordered a curry bowl and a sandwich, which came out to about $37.
Compared to other Thai restaurants in San Antonio, you can definitely find better traditional Thai food elsewhere. That said, what sets Curry Boys apart is the BBQ + Thai fusion concept, which I genuinely appreciate. The creativity is there, and I respect what they’re trying to do—it’s different and ambitious. Unfortunately, for me, the flavors just didn’t quite hit the way I was hoping they would.
I’m glad I tried it, but would I personally go back? Probably not. Would I recommend it? Yes—because everyone’s palate is different, and this is one of those places you really need to try for yourself to see if it clicks for you.
Interesting idea, good execution, just not my personal favorite.

We came in for a quick dinner before a show down the street. We got lucky and had an open spot in customer parking. So I didnt have to search. The line to order took less than 10 minutes, and when it was our turn the staff didnt rush us, she even explained some of the menu. We tried the brisket bowl, mushroom (added chicken) and the curry creamed corn. Everything came out rather quickly and in large portions. The brisket was a little fatty but SO soft and flavorful.

Bruh. I didn’t know what to expect, but I was blown away. The combination of barbecue and curry didn’t sound appetizing at all—but somehow it just works. Everything was so perfectly crafted and balanced.
I had the salad with barbecue chicken, and hands down, it was one of the best salads I’ve ever had. The brisket was incredible—super juicy, fall-apart tender, and paired with green curry that had amazing flavor, especially mixed with the rice. I have no idea how smoked brisket and curry come together so perfectly, but they nailed it.
We also tried the pulled pork nachos, which honestly didn’t sound good to me at first—but they were fire. It wasn’t ordinary queso either; it had this rich curry flavor that tied everything together.
Curry Boys Barbecue is next-level. I’d go back in a heartbeat.
