Our family traveled into town for a military graduation and D&N Kitchen came highly recommended. The food was fresh, seasoned well, and reasonably priced. The staff did a phenomenal job recommending food choices that their restaurant was known for. The food did not disappoint, and I felt the need to leave positive feedback. I highly recommend to others in search of a southern comfort meal.

My husband and I are always looking for places to enjoy soul food, particularly Oxtails. We found this little gem and decided to have lunch there. The food was delicious. Oxtails were tender and tasty along with the sides. Mac n cheese was creamy and cheesy and the fried okra was hot and plenty. The service was excellent as well. We have found our new “go to” restaurant for soul food.

I got the oxtails mac & cheese collard greens is cooked with a ham hock in it not a lot of fat on the ham hock like one of them German ham hocks. The oxtails was so tender and juicy the gravy that was cooked in. Make me wish I had ordered some mashed potatoes the best gravy I ever tasted Ever since I was under 12 years old very nice people take care of you real good. I couldn’t even eat all that plate and walk around and do nothing. I eat half of it. It’s so good anybody looking for some good oxtails or some good soul food the cornbread taste like grandma‘s cornbread..😳 I had a lot of food, but they do that less expensive plates, but I didn’t care. I wanted them oxtails and the whole nine.👍
Parking: Parking is easy the way the place is position you could park on the side street. You can park on the property. Plenty of parking. The place is nice is clean. It’s an older building, but you can tell they put some money and maintain.It well.
Kid-friendliness: I recommend the oxtails cornbread, collard greens and sweet potatoes. The sweet potatoes are made extremely good like some of your aunts and uncles and grandma’s was in the kitchen all day.

IT WAS a party of 4, and yes, we ate in!!! Because it felt like home. The food was a comfort to our soul and bellies.
Our table order: OxTails Fried pork chops Fried rib tips Fish All the sides Swamp water (IYKYK) Kool-aid (fruit punch) x3
Let's just say....we were stuck.....the owner gave such a welcoming vibe; we all wanted to hug her after we ate.
Everything was cooked and seasoned to perfection......we are foodies!!!! And this spot did not disappoint..... I wanted seconds of everything.
Bae took the rest of the Oxtails and inhaled them quickly. Now, the cabbage was not ready, but the substitutions were so on point!!! But they did bring out the cabbage when it was ready.....they throw licks!!!
I can't tell you enough how delicious this place was!!!!!

So we wanted something sweet.....lawdy she was out of cake... but had sweet potato cheecacake from her husband birthday!!!! So he welcomed us to celebrate with him as we were celebrating a birthday within our party too!

The outside made you think of the corner store, and inside it felt like the community food spot, old head watching the door, others playing cards while they waited......it was just a home vibe for me, like I was with my auntie and cousins in the south!!!!

I really wanted to love this place. It's appearance is reminiscent to any good soul food place where the food does the talking.
Unfortunately, the chicken fried steak was so overcooked that the actual beef was black and crisp. The Mac n cheese tasted like it just came off the Sysco truck.
This is definitely no Mrs. Kitchen
