Upon arrival, I was surprised to see that Starbucks had been replaced. It’s definitely been some time since I’ve been in the area I thought.Early Bird wasn’t bad. The staff were quite friendly, informative, and attentive at that. Before I received my latte I was asked to try it - make sure the coffee was not too strong which the latte overall was perfect. We did try their sample for their horchata milk that is made in-house. Quite interesting taste.The aesthetic of the place was nice. Nice in that grabbing a coffee and or stopping by for a very short while will do. Couldn’t see myself studying nor working here as there is too much going on.Will try and be back if I am in the area again.

I was very impressed with the service, coffee and pastry offerings. They have lactose free milk, which is kind of rare to see. The owner was very accommodating and made sure the coffee was made to our liking. We enjoyed it so much I went two days in a row. Unfortunately vacation is over now. I will be sure to come back next time I visit San Antonio! Highly recommend.

Love coming here after morning group runs. Friendly & helpful staff that’s always accommodating even when we have large groups. Overall great cafe with excellent baked good options - I especially love that they stock Cake Thieves donuts on occasion!

Food is amazing! The kolache and danish were delicious and I'll absolutely come back for those. I got a hot latte with honey added, but the honey was only at the bottom. So my whole drink wasn't sweet at all until the very end when it was so sweet it was undrinkable, because the honey wasn't mixed in somehow. It's got a cool vibe inside and the servers were pleasant...so I will try the coffee again but that was a bummer drink!

A stylishly urban coffee shop with fantastic drinks. Former coffee shop and specialty tea shop barista here! We came across this coffee shop while we were in the area and decided to stop in. It was probably the best decision of our day! The shop was super quiet when we went early in the afternoon with only one other customer there. The barista that made our drinks was super sweet and quick with our order whilst making it look absolutely beautiful. The foam art was so pretty I almost didn't want to drink mine. We each ordered Matcha Lattes. Mine was hot and I ordered it with Lavender to sweeten it since the matcha they use is ceremonial grade, which means it will be quite bitter and needs some form of sweetener to compliment the tea and bring out the flavor. It was absolutely heavenly. The whole milk was super rich and creamy and was steamed flawlessly smooth, but without making the latte so hot that I couldn't drink it right away. The Lavender was absolutely delicious and just present enough in taste to enjoy its hint of sweetness but to allow the matcha to really shine. The amount of matcha used in the drink was also spot on, as I was able to fully appreciate its taste in each sip I took. The other Matcha Latte we ordered was iced and had White Chocolate to sweeten it. The White Chocolate was really yummy and tasted higher in quality as well, pairing quite nicely with the matcha, but I personally enjoyed the Lavender a little more. I'd DEFINITELY recommend going out of your way to visit Early Bird. The drinks and the lovely atmosphere are too amazing to pass up on.

The coffee was superb! They source and roast their own coffee placing them a step above the rest. I had an espresso and an iced horchata-chai which both were great. Ample seating and a friendly atmosphere.

I am so glad this independent cafe replaced Starbucks. The quality of coffee and food, service, and atmosphere are greatly improved by the change. As lactose intolerant I was appreciative of the variety of milks, they had coconut and oat! The service is personable, kind, and has that family vibe. They will custom se the drinks. I order a chai and they wanted to know spicy or creamy. I appreciated having the choice. The chai leans a bit more spicy than sweet. Coffee beans can be ground to your specifications and the bag has a zip lock close not just a fold top, to ensure freshness longer. There’s a cozy outdoor space that’s shielded from sun by buildings and a tree. They have a very instagrsmmable neon sign inside. Great local place to stop.Wheelchair accessibility: It’s in ground level and there’s handicap parking right in front of the store.

I was introduced to Early Bird Coffee a few months ago, and what a treat! The shop is warm and cozy, with comfortable seating and a super friendly, knowledgable staff. The Iced Horchata Latte is my absolute favorite, although you can't go wrong with anything you order! The coffee is roasted in-house, and the pastries are delicious. I highly recommend Early Bird Coffee...a well-deserved 5 star rating for an incredible coffee experience!
