I had never been so I just ask for a bagel sandwich with pork sausage, egg, and American cheese. The person taking my order selected a sandwich from the menu and removed cheddar cheese and added American cheese, charging me something like $1.15 extra (I don't know the exact amount because I wasn't offered or given a receipt). I don't know if that's what Einstein Bros says to do or if the person needs training, but either way, switching out one cheese for another (especially a cheaper one) should not be charged to a customer.
Then the sandwich itself was just okay. The sausage patty was tiny, the cheese wasn't melted at all, and there was just very little flavor. I definitely never need to go back.
