Friendly and unpretentious little place for breakfast and lunch. The tacos were great as was the coffee. There is no dedicated parking lot for the restaurant so either walk or find a apot on the street close by. Highly recommend.

The steak al la Mexicano and The Castillo plate was reminder of my child hood. The enchiladas was so good and flavorful. Tea was the beat not to sweet just perfect really recommend. Service was friendly.

Great food, nice atmosphere, good value. Seems like some of the best value for the area.

Delicious tacos and great value. I tried four different kinds of tacos—every one hit the spot. The horchata tasted just okay (probably the powdered kind), but it was cheap so no biggie. The space could use some love—it feels a bit bare—but the food makes up for it. With a little attention to the vibe, they could really crush it.

We visited here due to the 4.5 rating but it was deceiving based on the food. The parrillada was very sad. The mini tacos I ordered for one of my kids had more meat on them than the parrillada. The flour tortillas for parrillada were thick and hard. The birria tacos were good. But the consommé had no flavor. The salad and chips were not good. The chips were stale and the salsa was flavored water. The waitress we had at the time of the visit was very attentive. Location is near the Alamo which we visited before eating here. However, it is best to walk from here as the parking near the restaurant was $15 for 12 hours nothing less than this and the restaurant does not validate parking. We spent about an hour here. We would not go here to eat again.

Got carne guisada, bean and cheese, chorizo and egg and sausage egg and cheese tacos. Best one was chorizo and egg. Pretty decent better than most I’ve got but not the best. Bean and cheese wasn’t the greatest flavor but decent average. Sausage egg and cheese wasn’t hot dogs and eggs. Nuff said. Guisada was very chewy hard to eat and I’m a fan of brown gravy but theirs tasted store bought. Straight from a jar and very salty. Did not finish. Overall disappointing since its downtown looks like it has been there awhile should be super well established. Price was low but that makes sense now.

Would give more stars for the service if Google would let me. Very sweet people. Let me in 10 mins before closing. Insisted I stay and eat. Ordered the beef fajitas and the set up was great too!! Excellent.

Here June5 2025. Very busy. Service was quick. Food was a step up from taco bell on flavor with typical large gringos portions. Perspective we have spent much of the past 13 years in Mexico so we were left disappointed. He ordered the enchiladas verde, she ordered pechuga ranchera, he says no way to compare this food to Mexico and I say the same. Both dishes were incredibly salty, especially the rice. We ate about half. This is not traditional Mexican food. Seriously Americanized Mexican food. Bathroom was clean.
