El Coqui Puerto Rican Restaurant is a hidden gem that brings a unique twist to traditional Puerto Rican cuisine. Every dish is crafted with bold southern flavors, giving a fresh yet comforting experience. What truly sets El Coqui apart is their innovative use of tapioca in all their dishes, adding a distinct texture and depth to classic recipes.

From the moment you walk in, the warm and inviting atmosphere makes you feel right at home. The staff is friendly and passionate about their food, eager to recommend their signature dishes. The mofongo, infused with tapioca, is a must-try—perfectly seasoned and incredibly satisfying. The pernil is tender and juicy, bursting with rich, slow-cooked flavors.
If you’re looking for an authentic yet creative take on Puerto Rican cuisine, El Coqui is the place to be. It’s a spot where tradition meets innovation, making every bite a delightful surprise. Highly recommended!

We went for the first time, I’m Puerto Rican and I approve this is very delicious food. For lunch we had the buffet options( very affordable)
And ur included unlimited salad bread and desert. They cooked fresh food for us since when we came all the food at the buffet was nearly empty. I say for the exceptional service of cooking us fresh food and we came back for seconds and are super full n satisfied. This made my day.
I’m from jersey city n I’m pregnant, I can be picky.

I totally recommend. It’s worth the trip if u don’t live close.

We will definitely return and enjoy some more.

I spent 7 weeks at BMT and graduated and all I wanted was food from my island. This place did NOT disappoint. I ordered the chuletas with rice and tostones and it was so good!! Just like my grandma makes them.
