I’ve preordered tamales 2 different times, about a year apart from here and both times I’ve arrived to be told they don’t have any orders and no tamales available. It’s 8:30 am on a Saturday, which they have a sign saying is when they have them, and I have my confirmation email for the order. I want to support a local bakery but this is pretty frustrating. Why send out emails to tell me to get my order placed?
Traditional pan dulce and all kinds of goodies!

You won't get anything unless you get there before 7:30am. After all you get is the left overs. Not sure why they stay open after 10am. Thankfully I do, but if you do not speak Spanish, good luck.

The pan dulce is good here. They have a variety of pastries to choose from. They even have an established place for ordering custom made cakes. This establishment also provides tamales 🫔 and barbacoa on the weekends. Yes, it is a little pricey. The tamales 🫔 do require a bit more flavoring in the masa. The staff is extremely friendly and very helpful when trying to decide which pastries to get. The establishment is very clean and you can tell that they take pride in what they do. I do recommend that you visit this establishment if you're in the area and looking for some good pastries.

I visited this bakery expecting fresh Mexican treats, as they offer pan dulce, barbacoa, and tamales. I purchased a variety of pan dulce, one pound of barbacoa, and a dozen pork tamales. The workers were chatting excessively behind the counter and seemed distracted the entire time.
After driving 20 minutes home, I discovered they had completely forgotten to include the dozen tamales in my order – a significant part of my purchase. To make matters worse, the pan dulce was noticeably stale and lacked any freshness, which was a huge letdown.
I drove right back to the store to address the issue. I wasn’t asking for much – just a refund for the missing tamales. However, both employees refused to process the refund, claiming they lacked the “authority” or “credentials” to do so and that I had to wait until Friday when the manager returns.
This is unacceptable customer service. Forgetting a paid item is one thing, but refusing to make it right immediately feels unprofessional and unfair. I’ve never encountered a business that operates this way, especially for something as straightforward as a missing order item. It left me feeling frustrated and undervalued as a customer.
I took a picture of what I received and I assure you the total of $43.34 is not wort it for the experience.

I don't usually leave bad reviews. It's typically incumbent upon me to try to assume the best of folks regardless of the encounter I may personally have had. Therefore, I'll avoid details that may single out an individual. But I really was not treated very politely when I came to pick up my 'too good to go' order. Granted I was one minute past 5:30, So it's not entirely inexcusable, But it was also a bit much. Desserts were fine though.
All bread is delicious. Tamales. Barbacoa. Just everything on the menu.
5stars for sure.

I enjoyed being about to pick my own items but all of our items were stale. Maybe we came at a bad time (Sunday afternoon) but still bummed.
The place was clean and the staff was nice and prices were good.

Very friendly staff and easy set-up to pick your selections then check out. Highly recommend!
DO NOT get the barbacoa and tamales. Everything was cold. I know the barbacoa in san antonio is greasy, but this you can wax a car with! The portions are very small and the tortillas are stone cold. I feel so stupid by taking the chance on this place. Never again
