The food is tasty with good portions and excellent service. The restaurant needs updating. It is a little outdated and their outside sign is worn and does not attract you to come in.

Waiters are great. I only order Chalupas and those are outstanding! Don't know about rest of menu. I would like to see cleaner floors. Bar service is good. Golden Margaritas are the best! Actually have right amount of alcohol in them. Pricing seems to be in line.

Always great service, great speciality food dishes & off menu options, and the best margaritas in San Antonio always.

Recently attened Bruce Hendens funeral and El Jarro Catered the most amazing food. I wish I could have that food daily. Beef Tenderloin, smoked salmon and plenty of other options. The display was amazing as was the service. I have had them cater for years and they are dependably outstanding!

The food: GOOD AND FRESH! Started off with some of the best Chips and Salsa I’ve had in a long time! The enchiladas may not have been the best I’ve ever had but they were still enjoyable!

The level of service: EXCELLENT! This place has a great, hard working waitstaff that is very attentive!

The atmosphere: It’s a bit more upscale than most places but still very welcoming. If you have ever wanted to enjoy a ‘Tex-Mex Candlelight Dinner’ you will get it here!

I look forward to returning and trying some different items on their menu.

I live in Mexico City and every time I come to San Antonio I can't miss the opportunity to come to el jarro de Arturo , the chef Arturo has achieved an excellent combination between Mexican cuisine and tex mex cuisine

The service is exceptional. I’ve lived in San Antonio for 2 years and never experienced service so good. The margs are really good and the food was good as well. 10/10 recommend. I’d were ever in the area we will stop by again

The fideo is on fire it’s the only place where we get it and you’re right this place is dangerous but it’s a rare gem and I would say everyone should try it and see how you will be going back to fire.

Had not been to El Jarro in a while and it was nice to revisit for lunch. We were quickly greeted and seated. The service is very good with very knowledgeable and attentive servers who promptly bring fresh pico and homemade tortilla chips. The prices are competitive for this San Antonio mainstay and, though we were too late to partake, they have a nice variety of lunch specials. The pico is flavorful without being too spicy. The portions are just right for the cost. It is a nice, friendly spot to meet old friends and make new ones!

I frequent El Jarro regularly and am always pleased with food and service. We were seated close to the bar which was very busy and noisy...that was not good...and they have no happy hour so I always wonder what the attraction is...maybe the margaritas.
