Total waste of time.
My husband and I went to El Pollo Loco in LA when we were there and loved it, so when I booked a trip to San Antonio and found out they many locations, I put coming here on my itinerary.....big mistake.
My daughter and I ordered a large side of Mac and cheese to split. It was delicious in LA, but not at all here. The noodles were so overcooked, they had no texture whatsoever. They had to have been booked for 30 minutes or longer.
I ordered the chicken burrito with guac. There was literally less than a TEAspoon of guac on the burrito, which was a shame. The burrito really needed the acidity to balance the other heavy flavors out. All I could taste was the reddish colored sauce, and it wasn't that good.
My daughter ordered the chicken burrito with queso on it. She hated it. She said the chicken had 0 flavor and there were far too many beans on the burrito. She said the beans were all she could taste
The shining star of our visit was the diet coke from the soda machine and the chips.
Won't be back.
Manager vocally said our order is not a priority and had us wait outside for 20 minutes for a 6 piece. Reality it took 50+ minutes to NOT get our order with the employees acting confused themselves. To be honest I'm not sure what has happened within the past months but the people working at this restaurant at very unprofessional. We asked for a refund and went elsewhere. Bad experience.

Got here at 7:15 ordered in the drive thru didn’t leave until 8pm. Was told that our 8 piece leg and thigh would take 10-15 min as we placed the order. Waited 5-10 min in the drive thru line then told us at the window we had to wait 10-15 min again. Sat in the parking lot till 8pm had to call to get them to bring out our order which means they forgot. Noticed tons of reviews dealing with similar issues and the “owner” replies with we’re sorry about your experience please go to our website so we can rectify the issue… why not just rectify the issue immediately? To the owner don’t worry about replying we don’t care to rectify the issue we just know to not come back.

We live in Austin, but went to San Antonio Zoo on Saturday last month. After the zoo my wife, my baby girl and I were starving, so we went to this location, I paid for the 12 pieces combo and sat down waiting for our meal to be ready. Minutes went by until we saw a couple clients went to the counter asking for they’re meals. Almost an hour had gone by already. It turned out chickens were still cooking, but at the moment of paying no one told us it would take a while or asked us if we were willing to wait that long.
I ended up cancelling the order and we went to eat somewhere else.
The staff were really nice all the time, it’s just the lack of clear communication what upset everyone there that day

It was a fast food place, not a typical sit down restaurant. Think McDonald's or the like.

August 13th, 7pm cst the 2 drive through women, black and hispanic, are Pocketing Money from customers. They got very upset when we said yes to them asking if we wanted our change back, once they gave us our change they took off their headsets walked to the back and never came back. Took 10 minutes for a hispanic male with glasses to come ask for a receipt while the women continued looking and laughing from the back. They all need to be seperated to other locations or fired .. I wouldn't have gotten a receipt if they kept my change and the guy was there the whole time so ultimately didnt have to show the receipt for the food, since we were the only car waiting.. They really trying to steal from consumers. All three standing there not wanting to work. No words said, but actions always speak louder.
