Originally I gave this place 5 stars and told others. The last three times I’ve been here the service is non-existent and every time the food comes out it’s at least 10+ minutes apart. No one apologizes or says can I get you anything. It’s the sort of bohemian attitude one might expect in the village or San Francisco. But I’m sitting right beside McCullough Ave so the ambiance is a parking lot not a hip walkable neighborhood. Being friendly and offering great customer service to everyone now that’s a hip aesthetic?
Including the potatoes with the breakfast sandwich certainly shouldn’t be extra.

The tip culture is crazy here! The barista told me my total was 8.65 for my 1 drink and then flipped the screen over and she had already included the 25% tip in the total. The service was on the slower end and the drinks are milky for how high the prices are. The location southtown was better I won’t be coming back to this one 🙃

Can't get enough of that sourdough bread. Wish I knew how to make it myself but never got into that covid craze. I kill houseplants so why would I think feeding the yeast would be any different 🫣. First tasted the loaf at Little death. Now I can't say no to your sour goodness...
Ps- coconut macarons are just the perfect sweetness not too not under.

We decided to try out Extra Fine after spending the morning touring the Briscoe Western Art Museum. I loved that the menu was short but offered an excellent variety of items. I ordered the quiche (recommended by our cashier) and my boyfriend ordered the club. Both were incredibly delicious. That pastry crust on the quiche though… YUM! My only complaint is that there are no refills on the coffee. It was GREAT coffee and I just get a plain ole drip black coffee. It was a small cup - one refill would have been nice, especially considering that tiny cup was $3.50. But coffee disappointment aside, not worth knocking a star off the review. :) The interior is so cute with eye catching decor everywhere. I’m curious about the dinosaurs. Haha. I loved them! Such a fun vibe. I definitely want to come here one weekday to break up the work from home monotony.

The food, baked goods, and coffee here are great. I've been here several times, but I don't know if I'll be back. They only accept card, usually I pay with card, every now and then I want the option to pay with cash. Their card reader was broken, and they're one of the businesses that puts barriers up trying to do business, not accepting cash. The servers are very nice, hopefully the owner will decide to accept all forms of legal tender.
I ordered avocado toast, expecting just that - was blown away by it! Delicious sourdough bread, creamy spread and fresh tomatoes perfectly seasoned. It was the best avo toast I’ve ever had! I also ordered the seasonal baklava latte which was super tasty as well. Friendly staff, quick service and a great atmosphere!

Extra Fine is a quaint coffee shop with home cooked food for breakfast and lunch. Im interested in trying brunch. The breakfast sandwich might be my new go-to. The Apple Chai Latte is delicious!!
