The cinnamon roll was very good but the Earl Grey bun was amazing! The service was very friendly and the atmosphere inviting. Definitely a must visit in my opinion.

Love having EF in the neighborhood. Their drip coffee is one of my favorites in the city and the free refills are great if youre hanging arouns for awhile. Their sourdough is so good - we love how convenient it is to run over and pick one up when we are making soups or saucy entrees. All of the baked goods are excellent. Some of our family favorites are the cinnamon roll (amazing warmed up), rye chocolate chip cookie, lemon lavender cookie, foccacia, and any of the pies!

We loved the Extra Fine Bakery. We were in San Antonio for a weekend and our AirBnb was within walking distance. We ended up visiting four times. We loved the sweets for breakfast, the Cuban sandwiches and the coffee. The staff was super friendly and helpful.

This was my first visit to this neighborhood eatery and we came in excited and ready to try something new and (we believe) locally owned. I can’t say it was disappointing exactly but it definitely didn’t meet our expectations.

First off, the coffee is excellent. Not sure where they source it but wherever it is they should keep doing it. A bit tangy and fruity, not overly bitter, and overall a great cup. I’d drink two a day if I could. Secondly, the service was good even if the staff seemed a bit rushed for some reason. There weren’t a ton of customers.

The sandwich was another matter. The one I chose was kept up front in a refrigerated display case along with many other items, all uncovered. It was dry, ice cold, rock hard and had a slightly unpleasant refrigerator funk. The ingredients themselves were top shelf and with a bit more care and proper treatment of the food I know it would be delicious so it makes me a little sad to have to write this. IMHO an experienced hand in the kitchen making simple sandwiches to order could change everything.

With all that said would I return? Absolutely. It has a really nice atmosphere, the people are great, the coffee is sublime and based on the ingredients they use I’d probably like anything they make fresh. With a few adjustments this place could easily be a solid 5.

Love! Cute little Southtown spot. I got a cappuccino and enjoyed it, and also tried my friend’s cortado which was really good. Rob is super cool and the baristas work very hard here to make everything in house. I can’t wait to come back!

I really enjoy the atmosphere here—plenty of great tables and accessible outlets make it a good spot to get work done.
I tried the coconut matcha cloud, but it was overwhelmingly greasy, and the agar agar clogged my straw, making it undrinkable. On a return visit, I ordered it with just matcha foam and coconut water, which was better but still too heavy for my taste. I’d suggest offering a simple, unsweetened matcha with coconut water, a drink I’ve seen at other matcha cafés like Matcha Maiko—I’d definitely come back for that. Having options that let customers control sweetness would be a big plus.

I also ordered the quiche, but the crust was so hard that cutting into it caused the salad on top to slide off—not a pleasant experience.

Service was mixed: one male cashier the day before was especially kind, even letting us sample the fiery punch before ordering, which was very helpful since we are diabetic and need to control sweetness. However, a younger female cashier today seemed less welcoming when I asked about syrups in different drinks, which left me hesitant to order. A warmer, more attentive approach—even to simple questions—would go a long way in making customers feel comfortable exploring the menu. BTW, this happened during non-peak hours.

I am leaving this review because I like this location and hope it does better and thrives.

The coffee was great! I got the caramel latte which was a bit bitter but after I put some simple syrup in it and it was good. I also got the chocolate chip cookie which was delicious. It was really soft and chocolatey. Great if you like not sweet coffee.

Google business page lists the business hours as open until 6 pm. Walked up too the door which was not fully closed just jammed. I could see an employee inside. It was disappointing that no one bothered to come to the door. Don’t waste your time here.

Nice cozy spot for coffee and pastries where you can do homework or meet up with a friend. Plenty of comfy seating options. There are a few sandwich and side options as well as baked goods. Coffee is delicious. Parking is in the back.

My only complaint is they do not have to many sugar free options. But I love it there

DELICIOUS!!

If you can only get one thing: get the Cuban. So. Good. We also got a breakfast sando and the strawberry pistachio cake/pie. Those were fine, but that Cuban. Loved it!

Tonnes of seating inside and some cute cafe tables out. Looking forward to trying a muffin and coffee.

Free parking in the back and street parking as well.

Our waitress/cashier/server was super friendly and quick to serve. We will be back!

I so enjoyed a nice lunch here with some friends. They have a great selection of hot lunch/brunch-type items in addition to drinks that range from coffee to tea, to other refreshing options. Parking was a little difficult to find, but that was a small thing for a great afternoon break!
