We had the American and Fire city burgers. Both of us had the same thoughts. Burgers were a good portion but very bland. I think they forgot the peppers on my FC burger. The onion rings were thin and crispy but very few. The chips and salsa were okay. All of this is just personal taste and subjective. I recommend to give it a shot but it wasn't for us.

I have updated this review since I heard from the owner, Jesse. I returned and gave the Pollo Asado a second chance. It was perfection. I am going back tonight after work to try the Fire City Burger.

The food is delicious and the service is even better. Very friendly and caring employees who go out of their way to accommodate you both for buffets and to-go orders.

BBQ-Burgers-Tex-Mex — San Antonio staples and decor to match. Really enjoyable.

This saddens me to write this as I was so excited to eat here today. I had literally been thinking about this place as my choice for dinner and was left extremely disappointed.

As I walked in, there were 3 tables with guests and 1 waitress who took a while to acknowledge me standing in front of her at the register waiting to place my to go order. She seemed frustrated and flustered and dropped a cup of ice directly in front of me.

I finally got my order placed and I watched as what appeared to be an owner handle my food with no gloves on and then watched as their chef toss my ribs that I ordered right into the fryer, assuming this was an attempt to heat them faster, but any chef would tell you this is a sin and leaves the ribs extremely tough (picture for reference). They also left out my order of frys.

Upon leaving, I asked the lady for a receipt and she said, oh I must have thrown it away. The guy who im assuming was the owner asked her what was I needing but to no avail no receipt was given.

I would be willing to give this place another try but after watching my baby back ribs get deep fried, that's a hard no for me and anyone that enjoys good barbecue should probably stay away.

Came to try out their namesake burger and there's no fire in it. Oh, there were peppers, just crunchy with no heat. While the patty was juicy and cooked to a nice medium there was not much browning and flavor. Two anemic bacon slices, pepper jack, a leaf of lettuce, a slice of a small tomato and a squirt of the chipotle sauce rounded out the fixings (missing the mayo). All on the ubiquitous brioche bun which of course went flat on the plate, even stuck to it. So tired of sweet buns for burgers.

Anyway, table service was nice to have. Might come back some day to try the brisket.

Great meal selection. Small operations but food is outstanding. Service is awesome. Jennifer was our waitress and was very professional and courteous. Ask for her the next time you are there.

Greeted warmly by Jennifer as soon as we walked in, provided great customer service! Always made sure our drinks were filled and checked on us often. My son and I both ordered the fire city burger. Honestly one of the better burgers I’ve had outside my own grill! Crunchy fries, good buttered onion rings. Will definitely be back!

This is the first time we have tried Fire City Grill and it will be the last. I was in line at the drive through for 45 minutes waiting on my order. We were the only car in the drive through. When we got home, we were missing all the sides to one of the plates and did not get the onion rings or fries that were ordered with the two burgers. I tried to call to let them know. I was placed and hold for several minutes. Then, I tried to call back and the phone has been busy ever since. I would not recommend this place at all.

Burger is good, but cheap Kraft Cheese was used on burger instead of cheddar that was requested. Fries looked and tasted frozen. Salsa was watered down with no kick. Nice staff. I want to like this place because it's minutes from the house. 3rd time here and last time. I have yet to finish a plate. I wish them the best.

Really enjoyed the whole experience at FCG. Service was efficient and quick. Hand blended frozen margarita was very tasty. The salsa served with the chips is homemade, flavorful and mild. Brisket sandwich had enough meat to take a couple of slices off to save for later. It was all good. Mac Daddy & Cheese was creamy and satisfying with a nice bacon and fresh chopped jalapeño kick. We also had the ribeye & guacamole botanas from the appetizer menu. The steak bites were delicious! Casual, quick service atmosphere is welcoming and clean— nothing fancy, but new and nice. Great mural! It looks like counter service, but it is table service— have a seat and they’ll bring menus to your table.
