AMAZING food. In an attempts to try a bit of everything, we split a large platter between 2 people and it was the perfect amount of food! The fried catfish was tender on the inside and crispy on the outside, the batter the shrimp was fried in was so tasty, and the sweet potato fries are incredible. We also ordered some red beans and rice which we also really enjoyed! Definitely will be going back very soon.
Had never heard of this restaurant until today but ate at the San Antonio location on Wetmore Rd. It was a small establishment but had an A rating from the health department. The food was very good and did not take long. The portions were quite large and the prices were very reasonable. The restaurant was short staffed so family was helping out and that is some of the BEST service I have EVER received in a restaurant. I was very impressed by this place overall and will definitely be back!!
Very nice people that work here! Great service and loved the self serve of the condiments. The food was wonderful and so filling! I will definitely come back to this place when visiting Texas again! Very welcoming and so helpful :) If there was a way I would definitely give them 10 stars if I could!
Food was excellent! Had the Shrimp tacos, Mac and cheese bites and crab stuffed shrimp! Hush puppies are awesome!
??????????? Absolutely love this place and will return! Wonderful food, service, and atmosphere! Besties Birthday party was a success!
Id like to start by saying this is my second review. The food at Fish Tales is AMAZING!!! Unfortunately the atmosphere was horrible. We were the only people in the restaurant besides two employees. It was slow and I understand everyone has a bad day. This crossed the line. The male employee was so rude, nasty, and mean to the female employee that it was miserable. We actually left before finishing just to get away. I'm not sure who they are to each other but this was awful. I'm not sure we'll ever go back
My first time.I got the Trio with a side of onion rings to go.Everything was piping hot.The jumbo shrimp was excellent. The chicken tenders were juicy not too dried out.The catfish were less than desirable as they had more cornmeal than filet. Very small. The fries were excellent as were the onion rings both appeared fresh cut & fried.I will try again and hope the catfish filets are bigger.
Best beer battered fish and chips since I lived in the UK! Certainly the best in SA! ???
I can be very picky about my seafood but this place was definitely something to not overlook! Bread and vegetables were fresh and the seafood had great flavor and in good portions. I wish more restaurants charged a decent price for great seafood. Blackened shrimp is worth the price, trust me. Loved it all! Keep it up everyone!
Started with a very flavorful gumbo and then had the fried catfish. It was some of the cleanest tasting catfish I've had. Cornmeal breading was perfectly done. Definitely coming back to try other menu items.

My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed Fish Tales. The cat fish and coleslaw were great. Even the hush puppies were tasty. We’re definitely going back .
Treat yourself to some Chef Tony! Tonight was our 4th visit and it just keeps getting better. The first couple of visits were pretty good - tried the catfish (great), fried green tomatoes, boudin balls, and more. THEN we tried the Surf n Turf Burrito.... don't hesitate, it's so good! NOW Chef Tony has another special, the Shrimp Scampi with dirty rice. It. Is. Heavenly. He includes a grilled lemon to dress the dish before you dive in and the shrimp was perfectly cooked. Everyone there is super nice and welcoming, like you just popped over to a buddy's house to eat with friends. So glad they opened there!
Omg!!! My new fav restaurant!! My dad & i enjoyed lunch there today! We both ordered the Duo, i had 5 jumbo grilled shrimp (dads was fried)& 5 fried catfish w fries & hush puppies & we both ordered the red beans n rice. Everything was AMAZING!!! There are so many delicious options on the menu, i cant wait to return and try it all!! Very well seasoned, friendly staff, clean environment, reasonably priced!! Definately gets 5 stars!!!
Great food clean good place to eat
This place has amazing fish and chicken just like mama used to make! The catfish is fried with cornmeal and has a nice dry cornmeal texture, on top of the fish being very fresh and rest assured the fish doesn't smell fishy or old either. The chicken tenders are made simply, but in my opinion, they are made the way chicken tenders should be, which is flour that is crispy on the outside with mostly dry chicken on the inside. The chicken has a good "dry" chicken taste that to me indicates that the tender was cooked in really hot oil, and cooked thoroughly. The fried shrimp are pretty good but I still favor the chicken and catfish over the shrimp. The fries are crinkle fries and I got more than I could eat. The trio plate was my first order and was more than enough to get me full. When I go back I'll be trying out their grilled fish and also some of their fried pickles. The prices are priced just right for seafood. It's not too cheap because if it were, I'd be concerned about the fish quality because let's face it, seafood isn't cheap and we all know that when we go to a seafood restaurant, and on the same note the price isn't high either for the amount of food received. The restaurant is a pretty small inside so I feel like with food this good, that this restaurant is going to need to expand very quickly since it's pretty hard to find reasonably priced, fresh, delicious seafood in San Antonio Texas(in that order). They say a picture is a worth a million words, so take a look at my meal and see if you want to drive over to Wetmore Rd and get you some good fish! The service was great as well, and I'd like to thank the sweet lady at the front counter who took her time to explain the ordering process and restaurant layout.
