Ok so my friends and I got tickets to a comedy show here…. Showed up and paid for parking just to discover this place didn’t exist…. It was shut down no signs or nothing…

Was staying at hotel next door and had just walked back from hemisfair park..I was tired and just wanted to get some food and go to sleep..Didn't feel like driving anywhere so I went here and when I walked in the guy just looked at me like who are you?Like he couldn't believe I had money to pay or something..I mean I was dressed casual but there were patrons there that were less dressed..Anyways I ordered a burger to go and while I waited also ordered a margarita..Quickly he said uhmm I'm gonna need you to close your tab.I was like ok..Usually I just open a tab and cash out on my way out..I guess he thought I didn't have any money..Maybe I'm wrong but that's what it felt like.I still left a 30 percent tip and was on my way..I didn't feel to welcome here..maybe because I was the oldest person here IDK..🤔
Update::October 1 2025
And now I hear its closed for GOOD..😉

Came to Francis Bogside for a dinner date. At first a little unsure because it was new but was pleasantly surprised. Aaron, our bartender was so helpful to decide which foods we should try. We ordered the pretzel by his recommendation and it did not disappoint! We ordered the fish and chips, steak and fries that Aaron recommended and it was absolutely delicious. While we waited for our food, sitting at the bar we ordered several house cocktails. We order the “Sea gets hotter”- on the spicy said if you like that but with a unique flavor. “Forget me Nots”- if you like grapefruit (doest’t have grapefruit lol but absolutely delicious and my faves for sure!) “Arrack The Casbah”- very refreshing, “Ain’t that a Peach”- on the stronger side but one of my faves as well!
We will definitely be back to sit at the bar and enjoy more drinks from Aaron.
If you’re looking for chill vibes, good conversation, delicious food and uniques cocktails! Visit Bogside and see Aaron!

Ridiculous service. Went in on the promise of a comedy night, thought why not. Went in and eventually found out it was down stairs, not a problem. No bar down stairs, ok back up to the bar. Barman was more concerned with training another bartender, drinking and flashing cash about rather than serving paying customers. Left and got a pizza elsewhere

Unfortunately we didn't find this place until our last day of vacation. It seems that it has lots of potential, but not until 9:00 pm.

I really dig this place. We don’t live nearby so we only come a few times a year, but we really want to work out. And it just struggles to do that. Food is good, drinks are lovely.

I think they’re just waiting for the rest of the neighborhood to catch up

Jonah was awesome and had great service. Food sucked and took forever by the time my party got our food it was cold and over cooked.

Tasty food and awesome atmosphere. Friendly servers and the bartender made great happy hour drinks. It's worth a stop, especially before a concert at Alamodome (2 blocks away)

Nice place. A few different bars and environments. Definitely worth the stop.

Great service and yummy drinks. Loved sitting at their bar for late night drinks and conversation.

So I actually love Francis and used to live by the old one and now live by the new one. I used to go to bc of happy hour apps, drinks and late night food. Happy hour drinks used to be good too and it would draw us to day drink on Sunday. But now the menu is so tiny and the drinks are more expensive,no more $5 HH cocktails. I wish more people would go here so we can go back to the awesome deals! I’m sad I will never get the days back of the Southtown location, drinking tequila honeysuckles and eating truffle fries while listening to a live band. I finally wrote a review bc I saw the new menu and HH prices/times and got a little sad that the old Francis days were gone.

Went here a few weeks ago for the first time and I was extremely disappointed! Service was basically non existent. after finally getting someone to take our order, wings were incorrectly flavored for the group we were with. And I was missing half my order plus after almost an hour waiting we never got our drinks from the bar and come to find out they were never put in.
The manager here was kind and that's why I'm giving 2 stars but I won't be back for a while.

Service and drinks are great.
Seating options for a group can be kinda meh and it's a bit warm usually.
Food is mediocre.

I score at 3 stars because there's no cider on draft.

Really disappointed! We went on a Saturday night, about 8pm, it is really cozy upon entry I'll give them that.
The menue in house is different from online, but we ended up with the fried pickles, fish and chips, a burger, and a Guinness (which was fine).
After about a 45 minute wait we got up to ask about the food, and the bartender checked. Out came the poorest excuse for fish and chips I've ever seen, and a mediocre burger. Fish was dry, and tiny, and my fries were totally over fried. My husband's smash burger was a small, thin piece of meat, with a single lettuce leaf and a half a tomato slice. His fries were soggy. We got about 2 bites in before calling it quits.
The bartender came back to inform us they were out of fried pickles, the kitchen hadn't said anything. They refunded and offered to replace the appetizer (very nice, nothing he could do about it, we get that), but we were ready to pack up and leave.
Stopped at Whataburger on the way home, and the dogs got the other food.
