Great food and excellent Happy Hour 😃
GREAT!! What a joy to eat here. Our server was Jeremy A and he was very good. Food was excellent. We ate here during SA Restaurant week. My husband started with the ribs and then had the pork tenderloin. He said both were excellent. I started with frog legs and then duck. Both were excellent. My husband had the pecan cake and I had the mini triple dessert. Both were excellent. We will go back!
I have to say I was very displeased with my experience last night. My wife was brought out cold pork that seemed like it came directly from the refrigerator. It was cold, not cool, COLD to the touch. Then miraculously a fully cooked steaming hot piece of meat was brought out minutes later. Also, the frog legs had no flavor what so ever. For the price I paid, $196, my experience was less than satisfying. I'm sorry to say that I will not be returning to your restaurant nor will I be recommending it to anyone.
RUINED VALENTINES DAY FOR MY FAMILY!!!! My family was having a great Valentine's Day and we thought we'd end on a high note at Frederick's Bistro. We couldn't have been more wrong. We walked in at 7:30pm for our reservation, there were 4 couples in front of us just standing there. No staff even acknowledged them, no one asked them to check in, and no staff even talked to us. Since my family was behind the 4 couples we patiently waited. While we waited one couple was seated, then a party of 5 walked in after us and was seated right away for some reason ahead of us and the remaining 3 couples. Then 2 of the couples were seated. Another couple walked in and was seated ahead of the couple who was waiting in front of us. It was a disaster and by now we've been standing there for 30 minutes. My kids wanted me to take them home a this point, so I left with the kids and my wife stayed behind to change the reservation to 2 while I took the kids home (I live close by). The man seating everyone was rude to my wife when she asked to change to 2, and even right after she changed the reservation to 2 he immediately sat a party of 2 who came in over 30 minutes after us first. Needless to say, this is not a place we wanted to give our money to so my wife called me to ask me to pick her up. What a waste of 45 minutes and what a horrible way to end a Valentine's Day that was great up until walking into this establishment. I can't tell you if there food was good, because we never got that far. But after nearly 45 minutes of being ignored you can imagine why we are upset. One other thing was the couple that was there before us who was seated before up ultimately got up and left after they were seated. I guess things didn't get better for them either after they were sat after waiting 30 minutes past there reservation time. Anyways, never again. Thanks for ruining our day.

After paying a visit, I can tell why this restaurant is a neighborhood staple. Ambiance and were attentive and quickly got us seated after a minimal wait. The bistro type menu and upscale feel made for a great atmosphere and cool experience. Would definitely recommend the house salad and collard greens. The steamed vegetables are also delicious. For main course, we got the Filet, crab cakes, and Smoked Salmon. All delicious!!
Friday night dinner for four. The restaurant is Asian-French Fusion. We started off the night with drinks and apps. French 75, Old Fashion and Martini were the drinks all very good. Our Apps were Crispy Calamari served over Spicy noodles, our other app was Escargot Bourguignon, different but very good, its served in a savory rue with Spanish chorizo. For dinner we all had specials, Halibut with shrimp in a lemon sauce, Parmesan crusted sea bass with avocado, and Veal Steak. We were all impressed and satisfied with our meal everything was very tasty. The fourth in our party had the wedge salad that was very good too. For desert we split the Frederick’s Trio- Chocolate terrine, Mango crème brûlée, and Rum Euphoria. It incredibly delicious and just the perfect size after a large dinner. We will be going back. I drive by this place everyday and had never stopped, they have a great happy hours because the parking lot is packed every day. The night we went we had to park in a separate parking lot at the other end of the building. We will be going back.
Great food and service. Was a special occasion for my daughter’s birthday. They accommodated us and made her feel special.
Walking into Frederick's lobby you are always greeted immediately, often by Frederick (the owner) himself. I'm always drawn to the beautiful flower arrangements that quickly draw your eye. The restaurant is upscale and there are a variety of French/Asian fusion dishes. The bar area welcoming. As a solo business traveler, I feel at ease to sit at the bar and able to strike up a conversation with many of the regulars that live in the area.
I would avoid Frederick's Bistro if service is at all important to you. We had a reservation, showed up a few minutes early. The first waiter to greet us said that they were working on a table. The next waitress said 'we are running 20 minutes late, you can wait in the bar if you want.' The first waiter came back 2 minutes later as we were determining what to do and said 'I have your table, follow me'. We sat down and within one minute the owner arrived at the table and literally said 'no, no, no - this is not for you'. He actually made us get up from the table and didn't have any thought of an apology or helping us to get another table. We said, 'we moved here a month ago, live a mile away and will never be back. As a note - we are 35 and were 20 ish years younger than everyone else in the restaurant. Bad way to build your clientele. Again - didn't get a chance to try the food and glad we didn't as I would never want to give hard earned money to a locale such as Frederick's Bistro.

First. I’ve dined here before and this particular evening I was alone. One of my biggest complaints is how they sell the specials but do not tell you the price. For example the ‘Lobster Salad’ is $34. Anyway. I asked my server the price of every special and he did not know. His responses were 30 or 31, Or I am not sure. On a previous visit, I was stuck with a $34 salad and a $40 entrée! To my astonishment! NOW I ASK!! So tonight it’s the beet salad and seafood linguini. Second point of criticism; while waiting for my table and to be greeted the bartender walked by without acknowledging me. Thanks Miss. The beet salad was very good. Creative balance of acid and sweetness from the beets with a sour tart from the cheese. It works. The bread was tired and clearly sitting around for a while. Seafood Linguini was a disappointment. Small shrimp and Scallops that were a few days too old. I picked out lost of the seafood. Finally, in my experience. This restaurant is overrated! The service is mediocre and so is the food!
Went for dinner with another couple. Food was average and service was below average. The seafood linguini had very little seafood and the shrimp tasted farm raised. Crab cake appetizer was good but very small for $18. Dessert trio had three tiny desserts. Server would disappear for long periods. Took forever to pay our bill. She was visiting with everyone else and ignoring us. We finally had to interrupt her conversation so we could pay and leave. Definitely will not return. There are too many other better restaurants.
Briefly... Waiter acted like taking our order was too much trouble for him. After taking our order he started smoozing with other customers before taking our order to the kitchen. Then a little while later he had to come back to verify our order since he never wrote it down, We ordered additional wine but it never came. Later, having thought the waiter must have left the building we had to get the manager's attention to get a bill. Additionally, anyone assuming that just because the menu reads "salad with anchovies" there would be anchovies, they will be disappointed. No anchovies in the $7 salad, just dressing. Too bad the waiters incompetence spoiled a happy event.
Frederick's Bistro is our favorite date place. We have always gotten really great food and service. Our server, David, has waited on us every time - he is awesome!
Great place for a friends' lunch or dinner with spouse. Friendly, helpful staff too. Beet salad and caesar are my favs for lunch. The shnitzel looks tasty too!
