It was 4/4/24 (World Burrito Day) - we drove from Houston to Boerne that morning to visit with family. We hadn't eaten all day so were hangry. I expected a long line but it wasn't bad at all. I hadn't been at a Freebirds in a long time but used to go quite often back in the day, so was looking forward to it. If you've never been, It's similar to Chipotle.My hubby & I each ordered the World Burrito Day special - $6 Burrito, bowl, or salad. When I got to the front of the line, I asked if the limited time brisket was included in the $6 special & they confirmed, so I ordered it. SOME items cost $2 EXTRA so if you want to know what costs extra you MUST ASK otherwise they won't tell you nor is there any signage on the actual food area that indicates the extra costs. This feels pretty sneaky (underhanded upselling without the customer even knowing until they pay at the end of the line for it) so NOT at all A FAN OF THAT!! E.g. my bowl maker recommended the cauliflower rice, which ended up $2 extra - something they never mentioned ?. The only one I caught was the guacamole/avocado because many places charge extra so I asked & they confirmed so I skipped. At the end of the line / at the cashier - I found out due to the underhanded upselling, we were hit with a number of small extras $ which we could've instead bought a 3rd $6 Burrito, bowl, or salad .Overall the food is hearty & good, counter service is quick.

$6 burrito? NOPE. Not even sure what comes on your base $6 burrito on 4/4/24. Got 2 burritos and large queso and chips $25 and change. NOWHERE did it say there was a charge for anything extra NOR did it say what came on the $6 burrito. I will never eat there again nor will I recommend your business to friends, family or anybody asking for a burrito.

Staff is amazingly friendly, greeting everyone with a smile, keeps me coming back. The food is also great for the price, the servers don't skimp on the portions, and I always leave feeling glad I went. Thank you!

I want to go there everyday for the rest of my life. The burrito was worth my first born child. The girl that made my burrito probably had all of the kindness in the world inside of her body. Overall 10/10 would recommend. I would die for free birds in Leon springs.

Food is great and so are the prices, I get the super monster burrito which can feed 3-4 people and it's only 17$. workers are nice and fast. I always order Togo since inside can be a little boring unless your with a group of friends.
Great food. Order it and build it YOUR way. No frills dining. Good ingredients.

As I walked into this Freebirds, I could tell I was in for a treat. All these options, so much food, endless possibilities. When I went to order, the person at the register was kind, helpful when I asked questions, and didn’t rush me at all. The entire kitchen staff seemed like the nicest people. When I finally finished my order, I could that it was being carefully and thoughtfully made. All these negative reviews, and for what? There is much hatred in our world. These people did not truly go to this Freebirds. If they did, with each bite, they’d taste the love blended into this food. All the staff truly are Free birds.

Food is good , however came to pick up MY Togo order and one of the employees was rude and tried to snatch the bag before I got to it as if I was trying to steal . When I’m the one who paid for the food ! I thought that was rude . Very questionable customer service .

Ate lunch here today, 1/20/2024. I had a Bowl with cilantro Lone rice, black beans and pinto beans, white chicken, queso, shredded cheese, jalapeños, cilantro, and red salsa and their creamy jalapeño. This is nowhere in the same ballpark as Chipotle's! The cilantro was full of stems and the black beans were hard. The Salsa leaves a lot to be desired. The creamy jalapeño was pretty good but overall, i was nowhere near impressed. Chips are pre-bagged chips, not bad ones, but they don't have lime and salt like Chipotle! Just overall not a place I'd come back to without a lot of changes. Especially the salsa and the Cilantro and the black beans!
