Hands down best Gorditas I have found in Texas!!! These have the authentic flavor and any of the guisos are finger licking good!!! We were so impressed they have easily become a must anytime we are in San Antonio! We ordered the chicharrón prensado, deshebrada, tinga, pollo con mole, and they were all phenomenal! We will most certainly be back for more!

Gorditas mi torreón is a small, authentic Mexican restaurant that offers a genuine dining experience. Located on the south side, parking can be tricky, but the delicious food makes it worth the visit. The menu features a variety of freshly-made dishes, including the popular gorditas and sopes, praised for their flavors and textures. Customers enjoy the Picadillo and frijoles con queso, noting the perfect spice in the green sauce that accompanies them. The café de olla, a traditional Mexican coffee, is also a highlight, offering a rich and affordable option.
The atmosphere is nostalgic, reminiscent of “la época de oro” of Mexico, with various pictures on the wall serving as great conversation starters. Although space is tight, the friendly service from staff in neon green t-shirts creates a welcoming environment. The service is quick, even during rush hour, making it a favorite for families. The restaurant serves authentic, flavorful gorditas with hearty fillings that taste just like home. The masa is perfectly cooked—crispy on the outside and soft inside—making each bite satisfying and memorable.
Customers praise the flautas and sopes, calling them some of the best in San Antonio, with the cabbage, queso fresco, and crema creating the perfect combination. While there are very few vegetarian options, it is a kid-friendly place. However, it is not wheelchair accessible, as there are a couple of steps to enter. The restaurant also offers desserts from local bakeries and dulcerías for customers to take home. Overall, Gorditas mi torreón is a hidden gem that provides a taste of authentic Mexican cuisine, with plenty of great food to enjoy.
