Sad to write this. I just tossed 4 Groomers lobster tails. All had an odd aftertaste. One shell had broken/decaying fins before cooking. Thousands of lobsters later - something just registered as yucky.
Then I tossed a Saku Block that was described as sushi grade. It had a strong aftertaste that I'd not encountered when purchasing this elsewhere.
Now I'm contemplating whether to toss the remainder of my order - as my trust in Groomers is fractured.

I have been coming here for years and I only like to eat the oysters when they’re salty. They were normally let me try one and if I liked them, I would buy a bag or two. They were normally let me try one and if I liked them, I would buy a bag or two.The Retail Manager named E refused me trying one. He said he only does that for restaurants and I thought he was rude. He said if you want to try one, you have to pay for it. In the past, everyone here has treated me really well and this is the only place I go to get my oysters, I felt like this guy didn’t give me good customer service at all and I probably won’t come back here again. Going, I’m probably going to contact the general manager and talk to him about this. I am really upset.

Good selection of cajun and creole items. I did not appreciate an employee following me around the store as if I was a criminal. I would have purchased items if she would have offered help or at least do a better job of spying on people from behind the counter. That was infuriating. Frozen crab that fell out the bag at the bottom of the cooler is unacceptable.

I tried to call weeks in advance to place a large order for my office's annual shrimp boil. It was going to be 70lbs in total. They told me to call back the week of the event because they would not take the order that far out because of market pricing. So it is Monday; our event is Saturday. I just called back to place the order. Now I'm being told that they only have 20lbs, and that's all they are going to have by Saturday. It doesn't make any sense, and I was looking forward to this company based off of recommendations, but hopefully HEB will be able to fulfill the order instead.
Logan was a REALLY BIG help today in helping me to pick out my seafood today - shrimp, crab and lobster tails. Thank you Logan for all you GREAT help!!

Daughter wanted steak and lobster...Where can I find really fresh high quality salmon, shrimp, lobster tails and crawdad meat??? Groomers!! My wife being a San Antonio native has been talking about Groomers for years...no I did not listen. But a close friend of mine is neighbors with Rick...he bought a ton of crawdads recently and we put on a boil for a men's gathering. I was floored at the quality! If you want really excellent quality fresh seafood, Groomers is THE place to get it in San Antonio. I went on Saturday in preparation for daughter's family coming in for a visit. Needless to say we spent an hour just talking with people and my wife and daughter and grandson ran around sampling everything. The service, the atmosphere, the friendliness of literally everyone was incredible. Blake and the team took such great care of us! I bought Canadian Salmon..mind blown. Lobster tails in 4 sizes, alligator sausage, jumbo shrimp, crawdad meat, seasonings... it was like a movie. I told Rick he won me over and I will be back ...Groomer Team...such a fantastic culture of customer service, knowledge and caring. I will be back often. Reagan R
