1st time visiting San Antonio and this little place did not disappoint. We had the combo platter and tortilla soup. Absolutely perfect and more than what we expected. Not super expensive and friendly service.

Do not waste your time and money on this restaurant. We foolishly did and we regret it. We were told it would be a 30 minute wait because of a large party, we had no problem with that. We ended up waiting an hour. The lime Margarita tasted like water. The strawberry margarita was better but not the best either. The rice had no flavor whatsoever. In fact it tasted like water as well. I ordered a tortilla soup that came in a small bowl, 2 small margaritas (not the large schooner you get at other restaurants). My husband ordered the fajita plate and 2 beers. $94 later……here we are. They wanted to serve me my soup when my husband’s meal wasn’t even ready yet which I noticed they were doing to the large group as well. The first person in that group was done with his meal and last person hadn’t even been served yet. That was our first and last time
I had an amazing experience here! We were a group of 14 and the service was impeccable — very fast and attentive. Most of us got molcajete or fajitas. Everyone loved their food! The molcajete specifically was a favorite. I am a pescatarian so I got shrimp fajitas — which I really enjoyed — and a delicious tamarindo agua fresca. The decor is also really fun. I’d definitely go back next time I’m in San Antonio.

Great decor. Food was good. Would go here again
Guadalajara Grill is a great place just off the Riverwalk by La Villita. Great food. Friendly service. Nice little outdoor seating area.

Love supporting local establishments but sadly was not impressed. They really struggled with our large group, food was undercooked for some, cold for others and didn't handle food restrictions/allergies appropriately. Smaller groups might have better experiences.

I was very surprised by the portion size for the amount we paid. I've eaten and worked on the Riverwalk for years so that's no excuse. Gratuity added to a party of 6 was fine I guess? The last time I had beans and rice like this was in Arkansas....which I should have known better....🤢. Also, y'alls grill cook needs to clean his vent hood before the restaurant catches fire. Just being lazy is gonna cost you.

Terrible experience.
We went for lunch on Christmas Eve after seeing a show accross the street. Instant regret.
In short, we were the only people there but still had to wait to be seated. The server didn't show us to a table or indicate where he wanted us to sit. I ordered 2 a la cart tacos, but got brought a platter and a taco. My gf ordered a chicken taco salad with no cheese or sour cream, but got brought a salad with cheese. She sent it back and it came back wrong again and was beef, not chicken. The lettuce was disgusting and it was sitting in about a quarter inch of grease. My food did not taste good at all. When the check was brought it was not itemized, but it was clear we got overcharged. Cost us over $40 for a salad, a platter and a taco and it was all barely edible. We would've argued to get it fixed, but there was a language barrier and my gf wanted to get out of there because she was very uncomfortable with how the server kept touching her shoulders and getting super close to her face any time he talked to her. I started feeling sick about 30 minutes after we left. No way we will be back.

I don’t want to be too hard on these folks. The food was okish for a Mexican restaurant in the area. The food was not hot, didn’t feel fresh, and the menu just feels like they’ve mailed it in. 34 years is a good run. The service itself was fine but so slow. We spent 2 hours here for mediocre food at prices which do not match the quality. That’s a LONG time for Mexican food. I’d go somewhere else if I had to do it again.

The service was not bad, but the food came overcooked , bland, and some cold on what is supposed to be a sizzling plate. I was disappointed.
