The cutest little restaurant in San Antonio. Lots of seating indoors and adorably decorated. I basically only order the spam musubi because it's my favorite quick snack and reminds me of home. The lemonade is sooo delicious and I like that they have multiple options ?

The food and deserts are great. But the staff was rude. They were not even busy and the women behind the counter did not seem interested in helping us. Then continued to be rude to other customers. It was honestly very disappointing all around.

After taking a look and shopping at Minnano, my partner and I decided to drop in Hanamaru Cafe. V ordered a hot taiyaki with custard and I went ahead and ordered a spam Musubi. Both were good.The seating was low and probably best to sit for no longer than thirty minutes.We were both glad to have tried Hanamaru once.

The taiyaki here is amazing! I love the matcha soft serve. They have a great selection of toppings for the taiyaki as well.I only took stars off of my rating due to the service. It's quite inconsistent here. I've had quick service when it's dead in there, but if they have anyone else waiting on items it is SLOW.The employees don't seem to want to make stuff? I waited 30/40 minutes for my taiyaki last time I went. During my wait, I did see the employees just talking to each other and doing nothing for at least 10 of those minutes.

The food is delicious, but you have to wait 30-45 min. Also, there is a service charge, even though this is basically a counter serve restaurant. Also, they expect you to tip. What is the service charge and tip for?! You have to go to the counter to order, pick-up your own food/drink, and get your own utensils, drinks, napkins. Honestly, I feel bad for the employees because there were only two, but that doesn't entitle you to charge BOTH a service charge and tip. I had high hopes for this place because the location, venue, and menu are great, but the wait time, extra charges, and customer service is what kills it.

Would have loved to try the food here, it looks good in the pictures but unfortunately like the previous reviewer we were also turned away when we stopped in on Sunday. The employees stated they weren’t taking orders because they needed to take their break. Huh? Stagger your breaks or hire more people.

I went on a Sunday around 4:45pm. They stopped serving food at 5pm, they seemed understaffed as it was just two employees. I originally came in for dinner, but left with a few choice warm taiyaki (delicious!) They turned away over 25 people stating "they both needed to take their break. Come back in an hour." They need to hire more people and keep menu updated.

This is my first time here and I went around 7:10pm. My daughter and I decided to grab some Boba tea before a movie at 7:45pm. 1st when I asked for a recommendation from the cashier she said, " I havent tried most of the drinks so she couldn't recommend anything." Strike. We saw the menu did say 15-30 Mins on food so that was considerate of them on the menu. 2nd We had to go ask about our drinks cause 30 mins had passed and nothing. Strike. I ordered a green tea and a boba drink. 3rd got our order half wrong. Strike. Served us mango green tea and green tea. 4th the tables were dirty and only 3 staff. So idk if they don't have enough staff for their evening diners or what but not impressed. I'd recommend going during the day maybe you will have a better experience but beware the evening cause it's not pleasant.
I left without my food or my money after waiting an hour for one ice cream and 3 hot taiyaki. This was the most disappointing experience.

The taiyaki ice cream here is absolutely delicious; super fresh and always so yummy! The takoyaki and musubi are also some of my faves. I would have given this place 5 stars if it wasn't for the staff being inattentive, plus the long wait for such a small order. Other than the cons, this place is pretty great!

I had to change the 5 stars I gave them months ago because even though the wait was extremely long the first time I went, I figured they were new and wanted to give them a chance. However, I’ve been several times since then and it’s only gotten worse as they’ve grown more popular. Today we waited 63 minutes for two ice creams, an iced coffee, and takoyaki. We were never told sorry about the wait from the staff. In fact, they were pretty rude, which is something I had noticed was a pattern. They seem very young, and I’m confused why there isn’t someone older there. Management needs to figure something out soon because it’s laughable how bad the service is here and having good food can only take you so far.
