Comfort food at an affordable price. My cheese enchiladas were perfect Tex mex cuisine. Rice and beans and taco were just ok. The chicken fried steak was huge and meaty. Needed salt n pepper but that is easy to add. Loved the green beans. Definitely will be back!

My father worked at Brooks AFB and we moved to San Antonio in 1960. We love the History since 1958. The menu is Great and there was something for everyone in our party. Needless to say the Foot was wonderful and half our party needed to go boxes. Our waiter was very attentive to our needs. We can't wait to go back!

After many years gone by not visiting Bud Jones because of poor service.I decided to stop and reminisce of my high school years eating there at Bud Jones on the weekends. The service was awesome thanks to Rick.I ordered the fish plate.Alaskan pollock Was light battered and was super delicious. I enjoyed the coleslaw, which was fresh and very tasteful. The booths still have a jukebox unfortunately not In service. The restaurant is looks the same from the 1970's.Fish Plate

I've eaten here a couple times years ago. My favorite thing to order was the chicken fried chicken, it had flavor, it wasn't too thick and it's a huge portion. We came back today and it was just awful. Zero flavor on the chicken and the batter, it was very bland & when I bit into my chicken it was chunky and gross. You could tell it had not been tenderized. It was like taking a bite into a thick cut of chicken breast that had been boiled then breaded and fried. The mashed potatoes are powdered potatoes, the French fries were also flavorless. The upside is my husband enjoyed his fish plate, but I wish I had ordered something else. Will not be back.

This place serves decent enough slop. You don't come here for quality food. It's just bad yet tasty country type food. Frozen fries, caned veggies, questionable meat. It's tasty enough to be a guilty pleasure. Now, it is very overpriced for what it is.A typical table looks to have the large country fried steak smothered in packet made gravy and instant mash or a sad improperly cooked baked potato, and a sad little salad smothered in ranch dressing and a weak glass of tea. The other person is likely ordering the all you can eat fish with the bland fries that are surely frozen and not cut. What's weird is that a few years ago they remodeled the place with tacky fish place decor, yet it made everything look more dated. LolI suspect this is to cover up the other wear n tear they didn't want to fix or update and to hide the filthyness that could be underneath. This place by all accounts is bad food wise, yet it lives in they space that it's ok, it's a guilty pleasure for most. It isn't bad to eat here every couple of years but you will notice it's declining each visit.

So this was my first time here I would not recommend it to anyone ordered fried pickles as an appetizer it's was good but when the bill came I have never been to a restaurant were they charge 3 dollars for ranch tht comes with it did not like the dry beans from the enchiladas plate now the service was good but the ladies restroom is a no go I have never been in a small tight ass space in my life I'm currently 33weeks pregnant n if my baby was bigger I really wouldn't know how I would fut I was already having trouble getting up look how tight this is

Hasn't changed much still has the same torn up booths, dirty atmosphere and the food was not good. I've never had sweet spaghetti, the cook over did the sugar. I haven't been there for close to 10yrs and I'm done with the high priced barely edible food. One thing though the service was GREAT...come on Bud Jones you're one of the staples of the southside..

I've always drove by here but never stopped. We finally decided to check it out after church and although we didn't absolutely love everything. We most definitely loved the country fried steak, that thing was humongous. The mashed potatoes were so good. My brother got the all you can eat spaghetti which he loved and absolutely ordered like 4 plates! Our waiter was so friendly and took his time to answer all our questions. Go check out their country fried steak

The batter has changed on the CFS, so has the portion but not the taste! Same as I’ve known for over 30 years! Great service!!! Worth the drive!!!

Really good food and lots of it. Decided last year that I would try this for my Bucket List and am glad I did. Large choice of entrees, veggies, nice desserts and daily specials which always contain soup. Not the fanciest place in town, but a good place on the Southside. I've come back several times from Seguin and will continue to do so. The juke boxes on the booths are a blast from the past. Large screen televisions are nice, too.

Idk what it is about this place we try to give this place so many chances, but it seems there's always something going on with this place. Like serving a salad this is old it has brown spots on the lettuce. My husband and I ordered the all u can eat fish, he got the soup of the day and I the salad. His soup was veg meat but apparently no meat. My was salad and yeah well let's just say I'm not looking forward to the fish now.
