The Mushrooms of the fried, appetizer didn't look or taste fresh.

We visited Jim’s on Thanksgiving Day and loved everything about it! Our server Nikiya was the kindest, most welcoming server. The food came out quickly and accurately and everyone enjoyed their meals. Our table ordered the tortilla soup, liver and onions and a classic turkey dinner. It was a great way to celebrate Thanksgiving.

You know, I really shouldn't even bother with this. But the level of mediocrity frustrates me, and I feel like this is the only thing Jim's corporate even slightly considers in regards to feedback.
I went in for lunch, table for 1. I was put on a wait list for about 5 minutes which is completely fine. I can see the restaurant is half full.
I would MUCH rather the hostess tell me ahead of time that they're understaffed and there will be an extended wait time. Rather than being seated, and left alone for 25 minutes to figure that out for myself. I almost walked out initially, but decided to give them another chance and ask for my order to be taken. My order was taken at the register, and I sat back down. The bowl of cheese soup I ordered was cold, and the vegetables were hard. Like it hadn't been cooked for the proper amount of time. After 2 bites I decided that was enough.
For the record, I have had many good experiences at Jim's and it was one of my favorite restaraunts growing up. But this location in Balcones Heights, and the location at I-10 & Huebner have provided consistently poor experiences. Both of those buildings need to get knocked down with a wrecking ball or be completely remodeled/restaffed. Maybe pay your employees more so that they start to care.

My wife's family loves Jim's. Its not my personal preference. I know it's diner themed, but this location could use an interior face lift. Wasn't the cleanest either. Carpets looked like they had seen much better days. 3 stars because The Clubhouse sandwich is fire!

Filthy place
Absolutely Terrible Food.
Nice people but this place is well past it’s prime. Sad really because I remember Jim’s from the 90s and thought it was decent. (They were replacing booths—perhaps a much needed renovation (and deep clean please it's nasty!) is coming or thus location is closing?

Tuesday morning, it couldn't have felt more at home. I know it looks odd on the corner of a busy intersection, but if you get caught in traffic and have time for a detour, you won't regret it. It was busy atmosphere and everything still came on a timely manner with attentive service, and Hot food, what else could you ask for?!
