Their chicken fried steak is to die for. Cream gravy is real creamy and the fried okra was delicious. Everything is hot and freshly prepared. The only complaint I had was that the waitress was not very good. She did not pre-bus the table and we had to get up and go pay at the register while others just conveniently paid at their table.

One of the worst burgers I've every had. Meat was very pink hardly cooked at all, everything tasted frozen and re heated. Never again

I have enjoyed Jim's for much of my adult life ,I believe they serve the Best Mushroom Burger anywhere. The Tortilla soup, fried mushrooms and even their Ice tea is so good. I believe you will never be dissappointed in their food or service.A.

Every time we are in San Antonio, we dedicate at least one morning to eat at Jim's. Our waitress was wonderful. Sweet, attentive, and informative. It was about 9 a.m. when we went in. The full menu is available all day. We were both craving chicken fried steak, but my mother had the lunch plate, and I had the breakfast plate. Both cost around 13 dollars. The protein was big, the batter crispy, and plenty of gravy. While we didn't have any this visit, Jim's pancakes rank up there with the best diners you can have, FYI.The only area where Jim's lack is the decor. The interior and exterior have, to my knowledge, never had an upgrade. The interior is, in a word, brown. Brown old carpets, brown booths, brown chairs, brown walls. If ambiance is important to your experience, you may be disappointed. All in all, if you like the American Diner experience and haven't tried a Jim's in Central Texas, give it a try.Wheelchair accessibility: Parking and a ramp.

I’m writing this review because I am very disappointingfor many years we have always love going to Jim’sI especially love the breakfast ,it’s simple but for some reason I just loved it or love itWell today as I’m drinking my coffee Jim’s restaurant on Broadway was on the newsBecause an inspector shut it down and revoked their license due to the fact that it was so unsanitary they had to shut it down, from an infestation of roaches and other major issuesNow here’s my big problem as wellas they speak to the manager on camera he has the nerve to saythis has been an ongoing issue????are you serious ,you actually said that and you actually haven’t even taken care of the problemsomeone needs to be replaced ASAPWhen you go to a restaurant well-known like Jim’s restaurant family owned has been around for many years you expect it to be safe I feel so betrayed will never ever go back

I would first like to say the restaurant was sort staffed just like the rest of the world but we still had great service from the server Tyler to the Manager Austin who was helping his servers!! Now the food was just as Jim’s has produced delicious and great flavor.Parking: Lots of parking spaces

Food is very good tasting.Workers are amazing. Very nice.Only problem I have is the cast iron needs to be replaced. I got breakfast from this location for the first time last week.Everything tasted exceptional but my stomach starting hurting a decent bit after eating. It was in knots. Then I finally relieved myself and discovered I had taken in way way too much iron from that breakfast. That can be a very dangerous thing and lead to serious health problems.

I’ve been coming to this location for the last year or so and while the food is typical diner quality, the service is what keeps me loyal to this location. Aaron has a great attitude every single time me and my wife and I are here. He’s very attentive, even when it’s busy, and always makes us feel like it’s a personal experience. I wish more restaurants had such great staff.

My wife and I came in there this Sunday morning and there were two other couples in front of us, waiting for a table when we walked in. Someone asked who was waiting for a table, we all raised our hands, and then didn’t hear from anyone after that. Each couple, one by one, left (including us) as it was not clear when we would be sat, and we all waited 10+ mins standing at the front without any info or further greeting.Jim’s is great - I just want to alert management. If you respond to this review, I’ll change it to 5 star - mistakes happen, but they need to be acknowledged.

Food was much better than I expected. I ordered a veggie omelette and fruit with rye toast (dry). The omelette was good and the fruit was fresh and ripe to perfection (cantaloupe, strawberries, bananas, and grapes). The server was friendly and very attentive. The building is older and could use an update but otherwise I was pleased with my experience. I'll definitely return next time I'm in town.
