What a disappointment! We’ve eaten on several Greek islands and at a few authentic Greek restaurants in Germany, and even one here by Lackland that has fantastic food. John the Greek’s fell completely flat. The salad was basically lettuce (2 slices of cucumber, 1 small wedge of tomato, 1 piece of red onion, and 1 Kalamata olive with the pit), and there was so much dressing on the salad it was almost inedible. Good service, good food, nice costumer service.
I've searched all over the Austin/San Antonio area for meat stuffed grape leaves like they serve in Greek Town, Detroit, MI. These are spot on. The flavors, the avgolemono sauce, and the portion sizes. They're so good that I ordered 50 of them an froze them. Going to do a larger order soon since I live so far away. Totally worth the 3 hour round trip drive.
