I really love this place. I took myself here for a little morning matcha and a breakfast sandwich and it did not disappoint. The matcha was really delicious (I got mine iced) and a breakfast sandwich which was absolutely divine. I added bacon to it and got the barbecue mayo on the side just in case I didn’t like it, but I ended up loving it, so I’ll definitely put it on the sandwich next time!
It was really nice to just sit here and relax. The artwork was really pretty, and I just drank my matcha, ate my food, and read on my Kindle. I’m excited to take my partner here. It really was that great, and I’m looking forward to coming back again. I would definitely recommend this place.

Great sandwiches, and incredibly unique flavors you can only get here. We accidentally stayed after close, and the manager/owner STILL took the time to talk to us and even offer us samples of his homemade tepache! 10/10, can’t wait to come back.

Cozy and relaxing place. Small coffee shop that serves traditional coffee options in addition to some unique seasonal/themed flavors. They also offer matcha, hot chocolate, baked food and lunch. The inside decor makes you feel like you’re in one of those relaxing book store/study rooms, perfectly setting the mood for drinking coffee. Staff were friendly and they bring whatever you order to your table. There’s a dog park across the street, so stop by if you’re in the area.

So so good, such a cozy spot and the parking is really good, especially for being downtown-ish. I got the avocado toast and amazing!

My wife and I used to frequent Kapej often last year and LOVED it, especially my wife. Unfortunately, we moved to the Boerne area and haven’t had the chance to visit Kapej in a while so today since we found ourselves back in SA we decided to stop by. But unfortunately we were dissatisfied with our experience. The drinks and the customer service were amazing as always, but we noticed that the quality of the food had changed drastically. It took almost 30 minutes after we ordered to receive our food which was a little bit confusing since the restaurant wasn’t busy. My wife ordered the French toast and it was topped off with an overwhelming amount of cinnamon and the “whipped cream” was not whipped, it was very liquidy almost milk- like consistency. The consistency of the whipped cream made the french toast very soggy and inedible. I ordered a breakfast sandwich and it was alright but it definitely didn’t taste the same as it used to. Thankfully the young lady noticed that my wife didn’t touch her french toast and asked if we wanted it to be remade, but since we were running behind on schedule we had to decline. They were very nice and even offered us a pastry on the house for the inconvenience. Regardless the customer service and the drinks remain a 10/10 but the quality of the food was a 4/10 this time around. We still love the coffee shop and I NEVER leave reviews for places but thought it would make sense to share our experience for future improvements. Im not too sure if the recipes have changed since last year but you guys should definitely change the recipes of the food back to the originals!

Honestly, the worst coffee I’ve ever had in my life. And this is not coming from a coffee snob.
I ordered a cappuccino which was essentially brown, milky water.
I left it and went to 7-Eleven and got a decent cup of coffee lol
The food was OK. Avocado toast with good presentation.
We also order a traditional breakfast, which was average and they were stingy giving you only one tortilla!
Ambience is quaint, but crammed .
Service was OK
The best part is that there is a nice city park in front of the place where you have a decent view.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Kapej is a true hidden gem in San Antonio. Tucked quietly off Camden Street, it feels worlds away from the busy bustle of downtown, yet it’s still close and convenient. The shop has a warm, welcoming vibe that immediately makes you want to slow down, take a deep breath, and enjoy your coffee without feeling rushed.
The drinks are excellent—thoughtfully prepared with rich flavor and care in every cup. Whether you’re a casual coffee drinker or someone who appreciates the craft, you’ll leave satisfied. The staff are friendly and attentive, adding to the overall charm of the place.
There’s plenty of street parking nearby, which makes it easy to stop in, and the shaded seating area is a wonderful touch if you want to sit outside and relax. The shop is also right across from the park, so it’s the perfect opportunity to grab your drink and enjoy a quiet moment surrounded by trees and open space.
If you’re looking for a cozy, relaxing coffee shop that feels like an escape in the middle of the city, Kapej is it. A lovely spot to recharge, read, or simply enjoy good coffee in a peaceful setting.
