The employee taking orders seemed high, and the guy bringing food (possibly the manager—heavy-set, dark-haired, white male) was incredibly rude. I initially wanted to order a lunch special, but they were out of chicken and wouldn’t offer a substitute or even let me pay extra for one. For a supposedly popular restaurant, running out of chicken during a weekday lunch rush is unacceptable.
I decided not to order but sat with my coworkers while they ate. That same employee came over and rudely confronted me about the price difference of the chicken. At that point, I had no interest in spending money somewhere with such terrible customer service. The food looks good, but no meal is worth being treated like that. I won’t be coming back.

Wouldn’t come here again. No eggs in the ramen, but….price hasn’t come down. Tip options start @ 20%. Service staff delivered food and never saw them again. You get your own utensils, napkins, and drink refills. Food was ok - not great. Better options around town - find them instead.

Great ambiance, terrible food. I have mixed feelings about Kimura. On one hand, the building itself is absolutely stunning—old modern, rustic warehouse style, and well-designed. It’s one of those places you walk into and immediately feel like you’re in a trendy hotspot.
Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end. The food was a huge disappointment. I came in with zero expectations, and the meal was nothing short of awful. The gyoza dishes we ordered were soggy, ramen over-seasoned, and very difficult to eat. The textures were off, and nothing felt fresh or flavorful.
The service was excellent, and we really appreciated that. It was the highlight of our experience at Kumura and made our time there worthwhile.

Been here 3 times already. Two times food was amazing. The third time wasn’t the best. It was during a rush so I can understand why this could’ve affected it.
Atmosphere is amazing specially if you sit at the bar and talk to chef and cooks.

Traditional Japanese ramen is filling and the noodles are cooked al dente with a good chew. The jicama is a nice touch if you’re into it. Gyoza had a nice flavor and crunch. Would’ve ordered another round. Would definitely recommend to a friend or relative visiting.

Food was ok not as good as I expected it to be very bland and noodles were too doughy. The staff was pretty dismissive and inattentive especially the tall fat white dude. Atmosphere was ok

Absolutely amazing food, super rare to find Japanese food like this in Texas!
No wait when I came in on a saturday night, it's a order first then seat yourself kind of restaurant.
They have free green tea and sweet.
Their appetizers are a must:
-the onigiri (put a lil soy sauce on top, makes a huge difference)
-the chicken karaage is a big portion and so is the shrimp tempura, can't go wrong with either
-THE GYOZA IS A AMAZING, 10/10
wouldn't recommend yakitori tho, its good but not 7$ good.
also can't justify 7$ for a beer either but hey, some cocktails are 7$ too.
but All in all, this is seriously a must try Japanese restaurant if you're in San Antonio

Got the toku with extra pork belly and a Mexican soda for 2 people. Came out to $66. Pork belly was burnt and fatty. Broth was cold, not steaming when it reached the table. Noodles were rubbery and the broth salty. 210 is not known for great ramen. But I have had ramen all over the states and it’s not worth the price at all. You can have better ramen at home for the price. Before they moved locations it was decent for the price. Now it’s not worth it. But if you don’t have experience tasting ramen from other states or even cities in Texas. Then go ahead and waste your money at this place.
parking is horrible.
Atmosphere is nice.
Staff friendly.
Just the food is not worth it
Parking: Cramming. Have to park in the street.

The services and atmosphere were enjoyable, creating a welcoming and pleasant experience. However, the food was extremely disappointing. We ordered ramen, and it was far too salty, with an unbalanced flavor that made it unappetizing. The broth lacked depth, and overall, it simply didn’t taste good. It’s clear that significant improvements are needed in the food quality to match the otherwise positive aspects of the restaurant. A better balance of flavors and attention to detail in the preparation could make a big difference. We hope they address these issues soon!
Michael, for your information, we ordered 4 TONKOTSU Ramens, the noodles are good, but the soup is too salty. Also I am not sure if I expected to have pork belly and it had too much fat. I wanted to report this but due to we were there late and wanted to go to hotel to take a rest, we didn’t report. Hope you can make the dish better.

Kimura was a pleasant experience, unique in the world of American-Japanese Ramen. The order is placed at the front and paid for before eating. The choices are diverse and commonly seen in most ramen joints.
The seating areas are very chill, red brick hipster vibes. Nice old timey light bulb lighting and wooden sturdy chairs. Plenty of table choices for dates or family outings.
The only thing I didnt like was the long wait for my food. Apps came with in 7min, my friends food (yokisoba) within 10min, mine took upwards of 15min. Small gripe but still a bit long.
Food was good, weird white onion choice but the broth was great and the noodles bouncy.
7/10 would eat again.

Parking is very limited, but everything else was great! I only give it a 4 because I lived in Japan for a few years and the flavors were off authenticity wise, in what I ordered (tan tan) but it was still tasty. Would definitely go back and the prices were fair too!
Parking: There was free parking after 5pm at another establishment across the street.
