Hidden Gem! Great restaurant with delicious food… definitely worth the trip. Glad they also offer takeout.

The food and service is amazing! Servers are really friendly, and the food plates are a decent size.

If you haven't been yet, just go. I can assure you with 100% confidence that you will love this restaurant. The service is top notch, and to start your dining experience off they bring an appetizer instead of the more widely used chips and salsa. The three house-made salsa selection to try with the sausage appetizer were full of flavor and varying levels of spice.

The ambiance feels like you just stepped inside a cafe in the heart of Mexico, and the food is exceptional. The portions are large! Our quesobirria and vampiro tacos were overflowing with mouthwatering, slow roasted meat with both sautéed and raw onions, cilantro, radishes and fresh cut limes served on the side.

Some of the best, if not THE best Mexican food I have tried in the United States and easily in the top of my top 5 restaurants I've tried in San Antonio. The prices are very fair and the server was attentive, welcoming, and considerate. And they serve THE best pineapple agua fresca I've ever had in my life.

I will be going back frequently and once you try it here, you will too.

My husband and I tried out La Calavera Garbancera for our Valentine’s Day Breakfast and they didn’t disappoint at all! Everything for us was amazing and the Cafe De olla was so delicious I had 3 cups 🙌 thank you all for the amazing experience, well will be back for dinner soon.

Firstly I order two Al Pastor plates and I can say the meat was way too dry. The limes I was given were dry as well, no juice came out of them. The tea was good though. We also ordered a cream dessert that had strawberries and granola that wasn't good to say the least, especially for a price like that. I don't know if I would eat here again. I paid way too much for that type of experience. Do better.

Stumbled upon this place by accident and it is wonderful. La Calavera is an awesome restaurant all the way around. The servings are large and everything I’ve had is so tasty. The ceviche is delicious.

Nayeli was our server and did a spectacular job. We will definitely be back.
