On this cool autumn morning, I ventured around the neighborhood in search of barbacoa for a friend. I’m glad I decided on La Granja. Their customer service is welcoming and leaves a great impression. It appears that it’s a few family members working the business and they gave the impression of being a close-knit group helping gladly. I am happy with my taco 😊- papa ranchera.

La Granja Barbacoa is a local restaurant known for its delectable barbacoa and tamales. The service at the window is friendly and efficient, making it a convenient choice for a quick meal. Customers praise the barbacoa for its clean, authentic flavor, although some feel it may not fully meet their expectations. The tamales are tasty but described as smaller in size. The restaurant offers a variety of sides, including beans and tortillas, as well as the popular Big Red soda.
Recent visitors have enjoyed trying different items, such as the tripas, which were noted to be extra crispy and reminiscent of past experiences. The mollejas also received positive remarks for their distinct flavor. The all-meat special, which includes a pound of barbacoa, corn tortillas, beans, and a 2-liter of Big Red, was highlighted as excellent, particularly with the perfect tortillas.
While the restaurant's exterior might not be the most inviting, the clean interior and friendly staff make it worthwhile for those craving a satisfying barbacoa experience. However, it has been noted that the small seating area may not be kid-friendly, and there is no wheelchair accessibility as the seating is upstairs. Overall, La Granja Barbacoa is highly recommended for anyone looking for great barbacoa at a great price.
