This place is a gem. Every single course that came to our table was refined, balanced, and delicious. The staff was extremely professional and genuinely cared about giving us an amazing experience. If you have the privilege of having Jamar as your server, then you are truly in for a treat. He was simply the best. I highly recommend visiting.

The first time I came, it was wonderful! Great food, service, and atmosphere. If I only went that first time, I’d rate 5 stars. I felt we had plenty of time to sit and enjoy food and drinks and spend time talking.
The second time I came, the food was still very good and atmosphere was the same, however I did not care for the service at all. Our server was rushing everything, quickly removing plates and glasses from the table before complete. This really isn’t the kind of service I’d expect from a place like this.

Amazing food. Great atmosphere. Priced well. Had the Chef’s choice (5 course meal) for 4. We all ate for less than $100, two of us had delicious cocktails. I can’t wait to go back, I may have just found my new favorite spot. The lamb was my favorite.
Parking was around $20.

Highly recommend the chefs menu! This is a wonderful spot for apps but is even better as a full meal. I great enjoy the bar a service on the second floor or even the seating area on the balcony.

First off, let me say that the chefs did an excellent job with the dishes. I was pleasantly surprised by the Turkish brunch and the different options that were available. Kudos to the chefs on an excellent job.

My issue with this restaurant, is the service. We had a larger group reservation of about 16, that was booked in advance. They must have been short staffed because we only had one server for our table. The server did the best she could but obviously could not handle such a large group. It took 30 minutes for them to bring us an ice tea. In my experience, there are normally at least 2 servers for larger groups like this. This was the first sign that management was not paying close attention to their reservations. After eating, the server comes around with the bill and explains that it can only be split evenly between each person. This caused a huge issue as some people only ordered one or two items and other people ordered 5 or 6 items plus drinks from the bar. The server was unable to handle the situation, so we asked if we could speak to the manager about possibly splitting up the bill for each individual person or couple. The manager was smug from the beginning and claimed that it would be impossible to do this. I explained to her that they were able to split up the other individual tables in the restaurant, so why couldn't they split ours ? She then proceeded to put her hand on my shoulder and in a condescending tone said it would take least an hour to split the checks based on what each individual ordered. She was very clearly more concerned about herself and her time instead of the customer needs. At this point, everyone was frustrated and we were ultimately forced to pay the check evenly. This may not sound like an issue but it ended up being almost $100 per person. One person ordered a pita bread and hummus, and had to pay $100 for this. We felt bad for them and ended up covering a portion of their bill.

The manager at this restaurant very clearly lacks in customer service skills and was very unwilling to help the customer. I have been to almost every restaurant in the pearl and I have never experienced such a smug and condescending manager. In my opinion she chose to be lazy instead of accommodating the customer and doing what was right. I don't plan on visiting this restaurant again, unless this manager is removed from her position.

Great food and love the sourdough pita bread! The lamb and beef kofta were juicy and succulent and the chicken quality in the saffron chicken was top class!

We recently returned to Ladino’s to give it a second chance, and unfortunately, this visit was even more disappointing than our first.

My husband called ahead to make a reservation for a group of 9. At no point during the reservation process were we informed that the entire party would be required to participate in a chef’s special five-course meal. We only learned this after arriving at the restaurant, which immediately put us in an uncomfortable position and felt misleading.

When asked about allergies, my sister in law stated that she’s dairy free. Instead of offering alternative dishes or substitutions, the waitress told her she could simply “skip” certain courses that contained dairy, despite paying full price for the entire five-course meal. This was frustrating, especially since the restaurant proactively asked about allergies but didn’t appear to have any plan to accommodate them. Skipping courses isn’t a reasonable solution when someone is paying the same price as everyone else.

Service throughout the night was consistently poor. We asked 5 separate times for a new glass of water before finally receiving one. My sister in law also ordered a second glass of champagne and waited half an hour for it to arrive. These basic service expectations were repeatedly missed, and the overall attentiveness from our waitress was lacking.

During our first experience several months ago, we also had a very negative interaction with a waiter. At that time, we spoke with a manager who handled the situation well and provided us with a gift card, which is why we decided to return. Unfortunately, during this second visit, with a larger group and higher expectations, the experience was worse. Again, we were offered a gift card instead of a refund, which felt like a bandaid than addressing the root issues.

While the food was great, the customer service, lack of transparency around pricing and dining requirements, and failure to accommodate dietary restrictions make it difficult to recommend this restaurant. I hope management takes this feedback seriously, as these issues significantly impacted our experience and are important for future guests to be aware of.

We got a chef selection of options. For the appetizer the lamb dumplings and zucchini fritters were pretty good along with the pita bread. The saffron chicken and pork skewers were delicious and highly recommend getting that. Out of the dessert options the olive oil cake was my favorite it had much more of a citrus taste than I thought. This place is worthy of trying in the area.

Incredibly disappointed with our experience and we will not be back. We had a reservation for 9 people and were not told until after we ordered drinks that we had no choice but to order the chef’s 5 course meal that was $65 a person. Should have been told that when we booked the reservation because we would not have gone. They asked if there were any allergies and I said dairy. I assumed that they asked so that they would provide alternatives but instead, they just came out (sometimes) and told me which plates I could not eat. I still had to pay the full $65 even though I could only eat a percentage of the foods they brought out. The food was okay but honestly, I would have much rather just picked out what I wanted because I also had a 2 year old who could not eat anything they brought out but the pita bread. Our waitress was also rarely around to check in on us and was not pleasant at all. For a meal that cost $1000, we should have been treated way better, the food should have tasted a million times better and I should have gotten alternative to every platter I could not consume. Not worth the price or time. Would much rather go to Down on Greyson.

Was so excited to try Ladino that I made an incorrect reservation for a month ahead. Thankfully the staff was accommodating and able to seat my parents and I in arguably one of the best seats in the house! Everything we enjoyed was delicious. Amazing dishes, and perfectly balanced flavors. Some of the standouts were the feta, fritters, souvlaki, steak and the ice cream sandwich (favorite!). Highly recommend

Really enjoyed our time at the great restaurant. The food and flavors were delightful. This restaurant is described as a Michelin rated and as far as the food and atmosphere I would say yes. The only thing that was not this was the wait staff. They could have been more careful in treating their customers. Otherwise we will be going back for more of this experience.

One of my new favorite restaurants in San Antonio. Highly recommend. My wife and I kept commenting on how much Ladino reminded us of some of our favorite places to eat in Amman, Jordan where we used to live. I greatly appreciated the cuisine, attention to detail, service, ambience, serving dishes, music, and so forth. Will definitely come back.
