Alvaro was fast and great as a waiter!
Alwasy great food!!
Nothing special.
I went to eat at Las Palapas recently and had a really disappointing experience. Our server, Pedro, had very poor communication skills — his English was extremely broken, and most of the time I couldn’t even understand what he was saying. This led to multiple mistakes with our order, and he brought us the wrong food more than once.
On top of that, he completely forgot about our table several times. Our drinks were empty for way too long, and Pedro never came back to check on us. What’s worse is that the busboy ended up being more helpful than our actual server — he was the one refilling our drinks and actually making sure we were okay. I strongly believe the bus boy should be a server since he clearly does much more than the servers there.
I’ve been to Las Palapas before and had better experiences, but this visit was frustrating and disappointing. Definitely not the level of service I expect from a place like this.
Giving this location a ⭐️ for the lack of service by Logan. I came in the Thousand Oaks location twice in the month of May, ordering appetizers both times and a drink (soda and lemonade). On both occasions, after my order was brought to me, I was ignored other than to bring my check. Never came back to offer me a refill on my drink, never came back to check on me. On the first occasion, I had to flag down another server to get a drink refill; today's visit, I LITERALLY HAD TO STARE HIM DOWN before he finally came to see about getting me a refill. I just explained to him this wasn't the first time I had been ignored by him but it would probably be the last.
I will add, he had the manager come to talk to me after I shut him down and the manager comped my ticket and apologized and said they would use it as a training moment for him. Afterwards, he did come over and apologize and offered me a free desert on his dime. Hopefully he'll take the training moment and learn how to treat ALL patrons.
I appreciate the manager's intentions, but as many locations as there are for Las Palapas, I will probably just stick with the location on Babcock. Service is ALWAYS good there.

Sunday morning the drive thru was busy but moving right along…just need to mark tacos on the wrapping… ordered about 20 tacos different types. All were in bag all mixed….better to put in a box instead of putting that amount in one bag. Very friendly and polite young girl taking orders??????

I have been eating at this Las Palapas location on a very regular basis for over a year and have always been pleased. Last night I ordered my usual chicken enchiladas and was shocked to see there was very little chicken in each. I mentioned to the waitress and she said they were training a new cook. There was no offer to compensate for this disappointing plate. I’m not sure I want to go back if they can’t get back to their previous level of quality.

Please for the love of god, drain the grease from the picadillo. My family was thrilled when this first opened over here, the service & food were excellent. Unfortunately now I hardly come because my favorite is always super greasy now. :( It makes the whole taco a soggy mess.

One star is too much to be honest the manager was rude and refused to serve us because my mom has a medical disability, she cannot wear a mask. Well the manager came and started yelling at us saying he will not serve us... we used to be regulars and now they will not see a penny from me agian... this is the second location too!
I ordered 3 tortilla soup combos at the drive thru, I asked Hilda to put only red sauce in my order, I also left her a tip and when I got to my house I realize that the tortillas and the red salsa in the combo were missing. Check your orders once delivered.
The food is great but the portions have become very stingy. I usually order the half order of beef fajita nachos and the last 3 times the portions of sour cream, guacamole and jalapeños have been very small. I'm not even half way through my meal before I'm scraping the to go container, trying to get even a tiny dollop to top my remaining nachos with. For $13, I expect more.
