The portions are ridiculously small. I ordered a pulled pork sandwich because how hard is it to mess up a pulled pork sandwich. Pretty basic, right? Except they skimp on the meat so bad that your bread to meat ratio is like 3 to 1. You're basically eating a bun for a sandwich the meat is so non-existant. My family's meals all came out similarly and although the service was fine and the river walk's ambience and view was superb if the food is way below par what does it matter?

We came to the conclusion as a family that this was by far the worst restaurant we patronized on our trip to San Antonio and would not recommend it.

All I need to say is without a doubt they had the best hamburger I’ve ever eaten in my entire life. Unequivocally the best beef I’ve ever tased. What the heck are they feeding the cows in Texas. It was life changing.

The catfish was great. My son got the Nacho's, the chips were all stale. The Mash Potatoes were cold. Asked to warm up mashed potatoes, she barely warmed them. Will Not be going back.

Today November 27, 2025 me and five of my friends we tried go eat at 237 Losoya St San Antonio, TX 78205 United States we are good customers. We usually go when we are working around the restaurant and we usually go for the whole you can eat. That’s a pile of the policy that the restaurant has anyway we went yesterday the whole crew and today we were gonna eat there again, today we enjoyed the restaurant, but the service is pretty terrible today. The staff refuse to service and they asked for from the radio if it was the workers and they say no on the radio. I believe it’s a super bad super bad to treat your customers like that cycle people to never go to this place because they’re breaking their own policies. I would like to hear from the manager of this restaurant and I hope these make some difference and I hope they fix this issue. The workers have from this restaurant pretty terrible.

We were greeted as soon as we walked up and seated right away. Our server Victor got our drink orders and returned and got our food order. We order Catfish plate and Country Fried Steak. The Country Fried Steak was cooked to perfection and was huge. It tasted so delicious as did the Potato Salad. The Catfish was flakey and delicious. They bring you more food than you can eat. We found the service outstanding as well as the restaurant clean as were the restrooms. We will return the next time we are in the area.

Wife ordered bacon wrapped filet mignon and the steak was soured and look like it had been ran over, when the waitress was told about it she agreed and said we've been having problems with that. The vegetable of the day was squash and zucchini and when it came out it was green beans which were not very good, and the coleslaw is also soured

BBQ Combo. Fabulous. Brisket, sausage and chicken, sautéed veggies. Spot on. Will definitely go back when in SAT again. Great dinner overlooking the riverwalk.

Your curbside hostess was super friendly and so helpful! We were walking by and just needed directions, and she was able to answer right away. We actually felt bad that we had already eaten and next time we're in San Antonio we're going to make sure to come to the Lone Star Cafe!

Thinking this place was going to be good a few of my friends and I go to grab lunch. As soon as the server arrives and asks about what we were drinking we all knew this was going to be a less-than stellar experience. The server, allegedly a woman, was not wearing a name tag and no one wanted to converse more than we had to. The server acted so annoyed to be taking our drink orders and once the food orders began it was no different. The second thing ordered was met with the response of “let me go check and see if we have that”, with a huge audible sigh. We should’ve left at that point but due to a time constraint we stayed.
The server messed a few orders up and added some upcharge items to a few as well without them being ordered. When we brought up the errors we were again met with a grumble and demeanor that only conveyed absolute disdain. Once it was time to leave we couldn’t have gotten out of there fast enough.
I’ve never been met with such a poor attitude by a server in my life. I’m not the guy to make a scene when complaining but we made sure to tell the host or manager on the way out about our experience being what it was. Last, the food was okay but not worth the hassle at all.

Came in for a quick lunch and sat for 10 minutes and never got served or had anyone come by table. 1 server was standing at the host stand the whole time on phone. Told her I'm leaving since only 1 server seems to be working and she didn't care. Very disappointing, had to go eat at McDonald's..... to have time to finish my lunch break.
