So a friend of mine sent me a tik tok of someone getting food from here the other day. I have not had any real soul food in a while so i had to go check it out. I got there a little after they opened. They don't typically have a two meat plate but i told the waitress i wanted to try two different things so she got me a fried chicken plate and then a pork chop separate. The pork chop was good but it could have used some gravy my fault for not asking for it but i think it world be better if it was a smothered pork chop but that's just my opinion.

Now let's talk about this fried chicken. It was some of the crispiest fried chicken i have ever had!! The breading had flavor without it being over-breaded. It had a real crunch to it. And it was fresh!!! Seriously so good!!! I am glad i don't live on this side of town or i would get fried chicken from them every day. The sides were good i had mac and cheese and it was an actual baked mac and cheese that had good flavor. The mash potatoes were good a little over whipped but still had good flavor with the gravy.

I got a plate for my friend she got the same except she got fried okra which she loved she said it was great because the okra was fresh. She also got green beans which i tried. They were simple but good. Just like my mom makes with some bacon grease in it. The cornbread was a bit dense so it wasn't light and fluffy... but it had a ton of flavor so i was good with that. So to whoever said it was dry...is crazy.

We both are raving about the chicken though we are both about to be in a food coma... lol

Overall we got a great amount of food for a very reasonable price. (I did not remember to take a picture of my friends plate but it was stuffed to the gills)

If you like good fried chicken or just good food in general...check this place out even though i don't live on this side of town i will go back for some more fried chicken 😋🍗

Call the establishment the lady who answered the phone had an attitude. Ask for the address, I repeated it back incorrect she said OK I said thank you. I called back cause when I got to the location it was incorrect so I just said that I repeated the address back to you and you said OK she said, sir I know where Our establishment is . She said nothing so I hung up the phone. I entered the establishment and I asked for a manager and she said there is no manager. I said You are very rude she said baby we don’t want your business you can leave. I cussed her out and left. The food is amazing but whoever they got working at the front, she needs an attitude adjustment. Drove 35 mins and this not my first time eating here but definitely the last.

I finally made it to Mama Lou's Restaurant. I was not disappointed, I had the OxTails , Mac and Cheese, Black eyed peas, Mash Potatoes and Corn bread. I felt like I was at my mom's house eating a home cooked meal.

Saw an episode of Elder eats and highly recommend this place. Everything he showed looked really good. My wife and I went to try it along with sister in law. We got seated very quickly, ordered our food and waited and waited and waited finally the food came out about 50 minutes later. Everything was cold and looked like it's been sitting in the kitchen for sometime. Cornbread was hard and flavorless. Food was not good at all. Wife and her sister had sodas, and sodas were flat because they serve it out of a 3 liter bottle. People were friendly, but everything else was bad, even the price. Sorry just my honest opinion.

Pam and Yanna helped us feel so at home! We got fried chicken, fried catfish - and oxtail to go!! If you don't come get you some of this - get in here quick, fast and in a hurry!!

Visited today with the family.
Overall good service and the chicken breading was bomb. Cornbread was a bit dry for our liking but everything else was tasty. The wait time was a bit long (30+ min wait) for the food to come out after ordering BUT this is a fairly new place so just keep that in mind. Would visit again if I was in the area but wouldn’t make the drive regularly to eat here.

Loved my entire 3 pc chicken platter. My wife had the chops. The sweet potatoes had a taste I only taste on Thanksgiving. Customer service was on point for them to be so busy. This was our first time here and I'll be back.

Restaurant is under staffed I was waiting to pick up an order and it was already 40 min past the pick up time and once I went and asked how much longer they then stated they haven’t even started working on the order but other customers who walked in after I did were already served their food only because they were dining in they make dine in priority not to mention they said the order was ready for pick up but I actually hadn’t even been started which was just to make their time look good

They were taking to long and they said let me check on your order. Waitress came back and said it would be ready very soon but if I wanted it to go and I said yes. This was supposed to be an 8 piece family order. I got home and only 3 pieces with brown gravy all over it. 2 large sides, 2 small sides 2 pieces of cornbread. $30 for a 3 piece. I live in Schertz and I did not want to drive in 5pm traffic. Very disappointed

Fish wasn’t bad, how ever I was excited to try the corn bread to only realize it tasted old like spoiled milk. The Mac and cheese also wasn’t it! Tasted like flour with and pepper collared greens were not to good either. I was expecting something good at least. I’m not picky either and I ended up spitting out most the food.

The fact that it says you all are open and I drove all the way over here and you all are closed speaks volumes! How about having somebody here if it says you all are open? This is why many black businesses fail because of foolery like this. Wasted gas and time and I don’t appreciate it.

I used Uber eats to deliver 2 x 2 protein meals. However, I am so mad that I paid $18 plus tax for a 2 protein meal (chicken and fish) and received 3pcs of chicken (2 drums and and 1 wing) and 1 pc of fish for one order. The fish was an up charge of $4.50. The chicken was seasoned and fried good. The mac and cheese and mashed pitatoes were good. The cornbread was not good and was more on the over baked side. Overall, the meal i ordered for me was not worth the 18.99 plus tax I was charged. Sorry, but I will not be ordering there again for the amount of food vs price.
