Loved our experience at San Antonio Pig Stand. I have been wanting to go to an old dinner for some time now and I am so pleased with this place. From their servers to the food was amazing. I recommend the bacon cheese burger and the fried chicken. Also loved their mozzarella sticks.Their classic milkshake are so creamy and savory.Kid-friendliness: Took my 2 kids with me, a 7 year old, and a toddler. They enjoyed the experience as much, and the servers were very sweet to them.Parking: It's a comfortable parking.

Food was pretty good but the service was lacking. She did all she could but they only had one server on the floor on a Saturday afternoon. We waited about 20 minutes for drinks (sweet tea and water) and about an hour for food. The restaurant was maybe a 2/3 full. I asked for one refill and the server never came back with my refill she also took the cup so I couldn't even eat the ice lol. But overall good food, service might need some help.

The Historic Pig Stand is a great breakfast spot! The ham, bacon, my overall breakfast hit the spot! Juke box brings back childhood memories. Highly, highly recommended!

Been wanting to go to this place since we moved to San Antonio. Haven't been in the area but finally was there during the lunch hour so I stopped in! Glad I did! This is probably the closest you can get to a 60's style diner without going back in time! Loved the table side jukeboxes and decor! Ordered the pig sandwich. It was juicy and perfect meat to bread ratio! Cole slaw was mayo based and delicious! Fried okra was crispy and hot! Loved it and will definitely be taking the family sometime for breakfast (served all day). Waitress was super friendly and on her own so she was handling it and did great on response times.

the wife and i out on another day date. First time here and wasnt impressed. but than again i didnt have any pork. Country fried steak with eggs and hashbrowns was my order. (no picture) Eggs over medium and cooked to perfection. My hats off to the cook. But the Country fried steak was not the best. you could tell it was bought pre made frozen, which was not a good sign for a good home cook style restaurant. the wife had 2 eggs and meat (bacon) with hashbrowns. to me, the hashbrowns looked burnt but she didnt complain. Eggs over medium and cooked to perfection again. we ordered some biscuits and sausage gravy, which was good. the service was ok, nothing great but not rude or pushy. will i go back? yes, but for something with pork, who knows they might have that done right.

As a native San Antonian, I felt it was my duty to finly visit this place as I had never been before. Went for a late breakfast with my husband. I love diners and we love going to Max and Louies. This place was super cute to me upon entering and you could tell it had a lot of history. There are little juke boxes on the wall at every booth and pictures of past locations and how the buildings looked. We ordered of coffees and the waitress was nice. Not very observant when we needed refills and asked every time instead of just bringing the pot of coffee. But maybe that just a personal observation made on my part and other people might want to be asked first. I ordered the biscuits with sausage gravy and a plate of 2 eggs with a meat to which I requested bacon. These plates come with either hashbrowns, bacon or sausage. My husband ordered the chicken fried steak and eggs since they don't carry sugar free syrup. Otherwise he would have ordered waffles or pancakes. The bacon was very thickly sliced and salty and my hashbrowns were a mix of crisp and burnt compared to his perfectly cooked hasbrowns. His chicken fried steak was perfectly rounded in shape and those of us who have had chicken fried steak before, know that this entree is not perfectly round. The only thing that brought these meals together were the eggs. There aren't many places that get it right when you order over medium but these were cooked to our liking. Overall it seems like this place is over hyped from the locals who have already been here, but I will say I still want to go back to try out the lunch/dinner menu as well as some dessert. So we'll see how that goes.

Always good to go to this dinner pretty nice and always a Swap Meat car parts on a Sunday.. a friend introduced this diner too me back in 1993 and ever since been hooked. So everytime I get a chance when coming out of town I come and eat here. I dunno if the chicken fried steak is still huge. But I do like the Bicuit & gravy for breakfast.

Honest to goodness diner. Over 100 years on the same site. You can get great fried chicken ( made to order and well worth it), pork chops like mama made them, creamy mashed potatoes and fabulous pies like grandma baked them. They even have working little juke boxes at the booths. Decorated with a huge collection of pigs, porkers and swine!

Beginning to look a little run down, definitely needs renovation. Came in with high hopes, a classic diner atmosphere that was nice with fresh baked pies. They had mini jukeboxes at your tables that actually work and they have songs from old to modern. We are in Texas though, please fix the AC, the fans weren't doing a thing. Wait time was a bit lengthy but the server was nice. The food was great, everything tasted fresh. The tomato and onion had a lot of flavor, I got a chicken fried steak sandwich (and they butter the bread!) with gravy on the side. Fries were good but a little small. My dad got chicken breast that looked dry but was actually really good, coleslaw he had was good too. Overall a nice experience, I would wanna come again but probably order to go.

Google needs 1/2 stars! My true review would be a 3 1/2. 4 stars is a bit high.Definitely a place I would recommend going at least once. Cool place, very nostalgic. Always good to visit historic places.Food was just okay, priced right though.

One of our favorite family restaurants. Not sure why it’s never crowded because it’s by far the best diner in town. We always order a shake. The fried chicken is worth the wait. Love the brown gravy and mash potatoes. They actually have malt vinegar for the fish and chips. The staff is super friendly. We also love the cakes. My daughter loves playing music from the juke box. We always end up here when the Pearl restaurants too long a wait and we are never disappointed.

Chicken fried stake w eggs was fantastic everything was alright, restaurant has very nostalgic feel. Only one person cooking so it took over an hour to get food. Had to ask waitress for refills. Other than that i would recommend for a very very very casual place to eat. Breakfast is served all day

Drove 18 miles to give this place a try for breakfast, even though they don't open until 10am on Thursdays. Got there at 945am and at 10am went to the front door and it was locked. We waited and after 5 minutes started knocking on the door. No response. No one was there. We finally gave up around 1010am and went somewhere else. I called the next day and asked if they were still in business and the girl said yes. I then asked why they were closed on Thursday because we came and no one was there. She said "Oh, we had to go to the store and we opened around 1015am". REALLY?? Here's a novel idea, leave your home a little earlier so you can go to the store and open on time and not inconvenience customers. No way to run a business. I will NEVER be back.
