UPDATE ... Those tortillas are still like little kisses from my mom and grandmother. Good service. The owner/ manager/ bartender (not sure ) because he was EVERYWHERE! He was greeting multiple people and helping hostesses and waiters. Enjoyed my Mary Lou's Plate. It's like a whole bunch of goodies on one plate. One of the people at the table ordered breakfast And that looked good as well. While someone else at the table ordered tacos you can see the corn tortilla and the flour tortilla. They said they liked them both. While we were waiting to be sat, I couldn't help but notice how quickly they were moving people in and out. And mind you they were not rushing anybody but the second a table left It was cleaned and set and ready to go and someone else was sitting there. Bravo for a short wait on a Sunday afternoon. Save me some tortillas please!
Never disappointed... Fab tortillas that I could eat with butter and leave contented BUT DON'T... Brown gravy carne guisada... Chopped up pork chop taco... Service is always good
UPDATE...The service is still really good...great in fact... Prices have gone up, that's everywhere though. Although this was the 4th or 5th place we noticed ice tea go up to almost $4. Yikes... Tortillas were not the light fluffy pillows today. So sad. Maybe tortillas were older. Maybe a new tortilla receipe. We all agreed they were just ok. Kind of dry. This was my SA go to tortilla. I bragged about it. When I needed a great one, I went there. Carne guisada was no longer the brown gravy.. red gravy now 😟... Not my fav. Two people at the table had carne guisada tacos, both said it was just ok. One didn't finish hers. Sigh. I will be back to verify but for now I will have to be content with fluffy tortilla dreams.
UPDATE TWO... ok so the tortilla gods have returned to grace this place. Thickish. Powdery. The pork chop taco rocks. The dice it up. Love that because I love how they toast up. Chorizo and potato tacos, umm. In one of the photos I show how little grease there was. Now that said, I like grease, its like gravy lol. And the bean and cheese, yes please. My friend just wanted one egg over easy, some popas and beans. They said everything was great. And great service is always great.

We celebrated our parents’ 50th anniversary at Mary Lou’s Café, and it was perfect, for our small family gathering. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the entire team provided outstanding service.
A special thank-you to Moises, the manager, who was incredibly attentive and made sure every detail was taken care of. Our family truly appreciated the care and hospitality—we couldn’t have asked for a better place to host such a meaningful celebration.

My family went there to pick up an order the other day. My grandma ordered a lemonde with no ice when we get lemonade to go it comes in a 32 oz cup. When they gave it to us they only have us a 20oz cup when we questioned why we get less cause we dont want ice the response was thats just what we do. So i still have to pay 4 something for less lemonade? When we asked to speak to the manager they came out and she again said that how they do it with and attitude. She then proceded to say if you dont like it you dont need to eat here and cancelled our order. We used to frequent this resturant all the time but we will not be going here after this experience. Do better.

Love their caldo de res! Wait staff was a little stretched thin, so we had to flag them down to get more apps and our check, but the food was delicious.

review is based solely on breakfast, but my tacos were just... there. flour tortillas were nicely done, but the ingredients were thrown inside with no love or soul. bacon and egg taco: eggs were bland with a sad little bacon strip on top. and the cheese wasn't melted or mixed in with the beans in the bean and cheese taco i got. overall, this place is definitely authentic for olmos park.
