The girl at the register seemed bothered by our existence and was not friendly at all. I hope she's ok. As for the pizza unfortunately the pizza sauce ruined it for me. The sauce tasted like a basic tomato sauce it was off putting like sour or bitter. It was disappointing because all the meats were high quality and the crust was crisp and fluffy inside

It was mediocre at best. Little enthusiasm from the staff, minimal seating. Pizza was just meh.

This is the first pizza place that my whole family agrees on. We all like something different, and we have already been back for more. I have to admit we were all a little disappointed with the desserts, but the pizza and sides you offer are delicious.

Pizza was great with fresh and plentiful toppings. Service was friendly and fast. The dining room was sufficient but very basic.

I ordered a family size cheese pizza. I went in paid, left a tip, and was given the pizza. I opened the box, and the pizza was burned. I showed the man the burned pizza and asked him to make another one. He said he can't because that's the way all pizzas are made, burned. Well, today was my first and last time buying pizza from Mattenga's.

Started with the pretzels and cheese which was good but when the pizza came out, we immediately noticed the oil that pooled on top of the pizza then the oil left after picking up a slice. This is the oiliest pizza I've ever had but tried it anyway and oil was too off putting. By the time I got to the second slice, debating, the dough had soaked up so much oil it was doughy and sticky and not appealing at all. Went because most of the reviews were good and saw someone else had the same experience so we took our chance. Won't be coming back. Way too expensive for this quality.

We love non-traditional pizzerias. This place was legit. Everything we tried was on point. We will be back!

Had a quick dinner date with the wife. A cheese pizza for her and the Pothole for me. The “hot honey” glaze packed a punch (for me), but a welcome change. TVs around for entertainment and a friendly staff topped it all off.

First time ever ordering from here and wow have we been missing out! The crust is perfectly thin and crispy, pepperoni slices were HUGE, wings were delicious, and those rolls! It's no wonder they were voted best pizza.

I have been to this plaza multiple times, but this was my first visit at Mattenga's. After throughly enjoying my meal, it won't be the last. While unassuming on the outside, the inside and food are full of flavor. A wonderful staff to help answer any questions and a good amount of sitting for those dine in eaters. They offer pizza by the slice, and all the items that I tried were top-notch., earning them my coveted " Certified Mad Good" rating.

This is our first time in San Antonio and we wanted takeout yesterday. I ordered a small supreme pizza, and buffalo and plain wings from Mattenga's. Best pizza and wings we ever had and we will definitely be back!

This place and the one on Quiet Plain are my go to places. Always tastes great. I just wish they had a crunchier crust. There was only one person when I walked in. She seemed a bit tired, but she still managed to be very courteous. I never have issues here. Treat them nicely everyone!

Ordered this thru door dash like 30 minutes ago. This is one of the best pizzas I've ever had. Last amazing pizza I've had was in New York earlier this year. Man, I'm not from San Antonio but I feel like id visit here solely for this. I definitely definitely DEFINITELY recommend. 5/5, 10/10. You won't be disappointed.

First visit to Mattenga's. Interesting visit. Antipasto salad was OK but I would have preferred fresher lettuce and the huge slices of meat cut up into bite-sized pieces. The green olives were salty. Supreme pizza had thin crust and was delicous and slightly spicy. Biblical quotes were on the walls alongside a cooler with bottled drinks. A big sign indicated to potential customers (thieves!?) that these drinks were not to be touched except by employees!!! And btw, they need something sugar free available in the soda fountain (Diet Pepsi?, Pepsi Zero?, iced tea?).The bathroom sink looked old, stained and dirty and the mouse traps were a bit disconcerting. The bathroom sign was funny though. Finally, employees were nice and service was quick.
